With the rapid development of China's economy,the scale of China's economy is constantly expanding,and the degree of internationalization is constantly deepening.China has become the most important market in the world.As the main body of China's national economy,manufacturing is in the process of transforming from Chinese manufacturing to China's intellectual creation.China's manufacturing industry is very large in terms of input and output,but it also faces a series of problems such as the weak innovation ability,the weak core competitiveness,the lack of scientific and technological talents,and the slow technological progress.How to effectively improve the technological progress of the manufacturing industry is one of the most critical issues.China and Japan are the two most important economies in Asia.The trade situation,investment situation and economic cooperation between China and Japan are not only related to the development prospects of the two countries,but also affect the economic development of Asia and even the world.In the process of economic globalization,Japan attaches great importance to direct investment in China.At present,China has become one of the most important countries for foreign direct investment in Japan.Does a large number of Japanese direct investment in China have an impact on China's manufacturing technology advancement? The purpose of this paper is to test whether Japanese direct investment in China has affected the technological progress of China's manufacturing industry.The article first expounds the background and significance of this paper,and puts forward the research content and research methods based on the combing of relevant literature.Secondly,this paper analyze the impact of FDI on the technological progress of China's manufacturing industry from the theoretical point of view.Then this paper introduces the situation of Japanese direct investment in China and the development of China's manufacturing industry in detail.Then this paper use the DEA-Malmquist model to measure the technological progress of China's manufacturing industry.Finally,through the construction of VAR model,the impactof Japanese direct investment in China on the technological progress of China's manufacturing industry is analyzed in detail.The study found that there is a long-term equilibrium and stable relationship between Japan's direct investment in China and technological progress in China's manufacturing industry.Japan's direct investment in China can promote technological advancement in China's manufacturing industry.However,technological progress in China's manufacturing industry has a minus impact on Japan's direct investment in China.
