Currently, there are serious environmental problems all over the world, the state of the environment is deteriorating, and natural resources are being depleted. The traditional model of economic development has led to resource scarcity, water and air pollution, freshwater scarcity, climate change, loss of biodiversity, etc. In this regard, the problems of transition to a "Green Economy" are actively discussed at the international level and ways to solve it are being sought.According to experts, the transition to a "green economy" is the only reliable method of maintaining growth in emerging markets,as well as provides opportunities to overcome the economic crisis of developed countries."Green Economy"-the direction in economic science, formed in the last 2 decades,in which it is believed that the economy is a dependent component of the natural environment within which it exists and is part of it.The "Green Economy" is an economy aimed at preserving the well-being of society through the efficient use of natural resources,as well as ensuring the return of end-use products to the production cycle.First of all,the "Green Economy" is aimed at economical consumption of those resources that are currently subject to depletion(minerals-oil,gas)and rational use of inexhaustible resources. The "Green Economy" is based on clean or "green"technologies.According to experts, the development of the "Green Economy"will avoid country s environmental crisis, which has affected many post-industrial countries. The "Green Economy" primarily contributes to economic progress and will provide:growth of the gross domestic product;increase of the country s income;creation of jobs for the population, while reducing the unemployment rate in the country. At the same time, the transition to a "Green Economy" reduces the risks of global threats such as climate change, depletion of minerals and water scarcity. An integral part of the global security system is the concept of sustainable development, which includes the problems of the relationship of sustainable development with the problems of stability and sustainability of national economies. The main objective of sustainable development is to ensure economic growth, social stability and environmental balance in the long term.Harmonious coordination between these components is ensured by the concept of a green economy, which has recently received increased attention in Kazakhstan and around the world. At the present time, the problems and prospects of development of the green economy as a paradigm of sustainable development are in the sphere of attention of scientists, experts, politicians, are often covered in the media, speeches of representatives of state bodies, monographs, scientific articles and other publications. The purpose of this research is to show that the transition to green growth is a necessary priority for Kazakhstan,as the economic development of the country is currently largely focused on extractive industries and exports of raw materials. At the same time, most sectors of the economy have relatively high levels of energy intensity and pollution,as well as low energy efficiency. The concept of“Green Economy" of Kazakhstan is aimed at improving the efficiency of resource use and promotion of new technologies to ensure sustainable growth for future generations.
