Characteristic Analysis And Strategic Choice Of Laos Attracting China's Direct Investment

With the “One Belt and One Road” development initiative proposed by China in 2013 and the full launch of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area in 2015,Laos is one of the important member states.The cooperation between China and Laos has ushered in a new historical stage.With the deepening of economic exchanges between countries,international capital flows have become the focus of many scholars.Under the new background of economic cooperation between China and Laos,it is of great practical significance and theoretical significance to study the characteristics analysis and strategic choice of Laos to attract Chinese direct investment.The article lays a foundation for the study of this paper by reviewing the impact of domestic and foreign direct investment on the industrial structure of the host country and the relevant literature on the factors affecting China's foreign direct investment.This document informs about how Laos' absorption of China's direct investment and its influencing factors as the research object,selects the data of China's direct investment in Laos from 2000 to 2017,and analyzes in detail from three aspects: investment scale,investment industry and investment form,and understands China's Laos.The current status of direct investment and the impact of China's direct investment on the industrial structure of Laos.In addition,this document provides analysis of Laos' direct investment in China from the four aspects of advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and challenges,and analyzes SWOT strategic choices for better investment and attracting investment from the perspective of China and Laos.The results of the analysis provided Laos with a development strategy choice at different stages of development.In the end,this paper proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for Laos to better absorb the direct investment of Chinese enterprises from the perspectives of infrastructure construction,law and regulation,management of Lao government work and optimization of foreign capital structure.The contribution of the research is to enrich Laos' investment theory and help Laos to actively improve the domestic investment environment and seize opportunities.The research results provide a theoretical basis for Laos to actively and effectively absorb direct investment from Chinese enterprises and choose appropriate development strategies.
