Since the fortieth anniversary of the reform and opening-up,the research on the unbalanced and polarized problems of regional economic development has been a hot spot of attention by governments, organizations and scholars, and it is very forward-looking.Under the market mechanism, the unbalanced and polarization phenomenon of regional economic development is inevitable, and its change has a profound influence on the political, economic and cultural aspects of a country or region. In the new century, the economic development of Henan province is increasing, but the unbalanced and polarized phenomenon of regional economic development in the province corresponding to it is also increasing, which will affect the regional economic development of the whole province in the future.Based on the "element flow" angle of urban and rural and regional association, the paper constructs the urban agglomeration ability index, and uses the Gini coefficient and the Cui-Wang index to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution of the regional economic development of Henan province during the period 2000-2016.The results show that the urban agglomeration of the cities in Henan Province is the core-edge structure of Zhengzhou as the core, and is increasing with the time. The Gini coefficient and the Cui-Wang index are from the whole and the sub-economic zone(the four economic zones: the Central Plains Economic Area and the North of the North of Henan). The Huanghuai Economic Zone and the Western Henan and the Southwest Economic Zone have all indicated that there are more obvious areas in Henan Province.Regional diversity and spatial polarization, and increased in varying degrees over time, during which period 2005(0.5003)entered the development gap(between 0.5 and 0.6),in particular due to national policies, regional development planning,The spatial differentiation, polarization and timing evolution of the urban agglomeration ability are caused by the difference and the dynamic change of the regional advantage degree of the cities and cities in the administrative level and the regional resource endowment and the industrial structure. The empirical analysis of Henan province shows that the comprehensive index of urban agglomeration based on the "element flow" angle has strong explanation and rationality. The result of the analysis can provide a reference for the coordinated and sustainable development of the regional economy in Henan Province. This paper is divided into six parts. The introduction introduces the background and significance of this paper, the domestic and foreign research trends, and the research methods and ideas of this paper.Chapter 2 introduces the theory and research of unbalanced development and polarization of regional economy. The third chapter carries on the empirical analysis to the Henan province regional economic development difference, draws the relevant conclusion. In chapter 4,according to the present situation of unbalanced development and polarization of regional economy in Henan Province, the author evaluates its influence on the difference of regional economic development in Henan Province from both positive and negative aspects. In chapter 5,the countermeasures and suggestions of regional economic development in Henan province are put forward, which is based on the cultivation and construction. The key growth poles of Henan Province, the adjustment of inter-regional industrial structure, the coordination of the development of backward areas and the cultivation of talents in backward areas are pointed out to be helpful to the healthy development of regional economy in Henan Province.Chapter 6 summarizes the full text.
