Research On The Impact Of My Country's Innovation Efficiency On The Convergence Of Regional Economic Growth

The high-speed growth period of China's economy driven by material capital investment has gone forever.We need to find new impetus,and innovation is just the lasting impetus of economic growth.At present,our government is fully aware of the truth that only innovation can promote long-term economic and social development,and then put forward the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy,to promote innovation to the height of national strategy.It is self-evident that innovation ability plays an important role in regional economic development.Innovation ability is the effect of transforming innovation resources into innovation output.Innovation ability mainly manifests itself in innovation efficiency.The promotion of innovation efficiency has a great role in promoting economic growth.So how about the current situation of innovation efficiency in China and what problems it has,which need us to give clear answers.As the adjacent things are closely linked,innovation activities are no exception.What is the spatial relationship between provincial innovation efficiency in China and how it affects the narrowing of regional economic disparities? These questions need to be answered accurately through empirical research.This paper evaluates China's innovation efficiency on the basis of existing literature.Innovation consists of input and output.The innovation input index selected in this paper is R&D expenditure and R&D personnel,and the innovation output index is patent application and sales revenue of new products.Based on these two data,DEA is used to evaluate the efficiency.The measurement results show that China's innovation efficiency is low,while the innovation efficiency has an upward trend and the regional gap has become smaller.The eastern region has been higher than the central and Western regions,but in 2016,the innovation efficiency of the central region is higher than that of the eastern region.On this basis,this paper uses the Moran index to examine the relationship between innovation efficiency in geographic space.The results show that innovation efficiency in China has a strong positive spatial correlation,which means that the innovation efficiency of a region is not only affected by the nearby areas,but also has an impact on the adjacent areas.Therefore,when we observe the relationship between innovation efficiency and economic convergence,we should not neglect the spatial effect of innovation efficiency.By combining the traditional convergence model with the spatial econometric model,this paper constructs an economic convergence model including the spatial effect of innovation efficiency,andtests the actual situation in China.The results show that innovation efficiency can narrow regional economic disparity and achieve economic convergence,but this convergence varies with time.During the period 2000-2003,due to China's accession to the WTO and the rapid expansion of opening up,the regional economic growth disparity in China has widened,and the economic growth has shown a divergent trend.From 2004 to 2007,the improvement of innovation efficiency began to promote the convergence of China's economy.From 2008 to 2011,innovation efficiency and its spatial spillover effect have strengthened the convergence of China's economic growth.From 2012 to 2016,the spillover effect of innovation efficiency accelerates the convergence of economic growth,which shows that innovation-driven development strategy is conducive to promoting economic growth and can also achieve economic convergence.
