At present,the supermarket chain has become a major format of the international retail industry,and its vitality and competitiveness have gradually become prominent.In the increasingly fierce market competition,the key issue that every supermarket chain must face and solve is how to formulate or adjust its own development strategy to adapt to the needs of the market economy according to market changes.Formulating a reasonable development strategy can stimulate the creativity and vitality of supermarket chains,guide them to play their own competitive advantages,help them correctly hold the future,and then maintain their leading position in the international retail industry.Supermarket chain A is the fastest growing local supermarket chain in city B,and also a representative of medium and large supermarket chains.This paper takes supermarket chain A as the research object,and focuses on its development strategy and strategic direction in the current social and economic situation.As one of the supermarket chains in B city,A supermarket chains are facing the competition with international supermarkets and local supermarkets.Based on the basic theory of chain operation,this paper makes a detailed analysis of the external environment and industry environment of A chain supermarket.Through collecting data and questionnaire survey of A-chain supermarkets,combining with the development status of A-chain supermarkets,the existing problems of A-chain supermarkets are found out.At the same time,SWOT analysis of A-chain supermarkets is carried out to clarify the advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats in the development of A-chain supermarkets.Based on the theory of development strategy and combined with the development status of A-chain supermarkets,this paper first points out that the current development strategy of A-chain supermarkets leads to the slow development of Achain supermarkets and the lack of certain risk prevention capabilities.Secondly,the growth and defensive development strategies of supermarket chain A are determined.Finally,the specific implementation path of the development strategy for A-chain supermarkets is formulated,which includes four ways: differentiated service,self-owned brand,cost leadership and localized purchasing,so as to ensure the rapid development of A-chain supermarkets under the new strategy.It is expected,with the slow development of the retail industry,that the research results of this paper can not only provide supermarket chain A suggestions for the implementation of their development strategies,but also offer reference and useful guidance to formulate development strategies for other supermarket chains in the same industry.
