In a knowledge-based society,as an organization that produces, disseminates, and applies knowledge, universities begin to play an increasingly important role in the economy and society and become a key element in the innovation system.Academic entrepreneurs with high-tech backgrounds shoulder the mission of applying and promoting knowledge. However,as we all know, the success of entrepreneurship is not a one-off event. For the current academic entrepreneurs, the cultivation of entrepreneurial intentions plays a vital role in the early success of the early stage and the growth of the enterprise in the middle and late stage. Therefore, understanding the nature and influence factors of the entrepreneurial intention can not only improve the existing entrepreneurial theory. The system also guides future academic entrepreneurship practices.Firstly, this paper first discusses the definition of academic entrepreneurship, reviews the representative academic entrepreneurship model, and studies the main ideas, research methods and research results of academic entrepreneurship for more than 20 years. The current research on each level and perspective is summarized and compared, and the shortcomings of the existing research are pointed out.Next, the paper summarizes the current research on the field of entrepreneurial intention,in order to bridge the theoretical gap between the existing academic entrepreneurial intention research, and explore the role of the proximal predictors and the distal predictors of entrepreneurial intention in determining the academic entrepreneurial intention.Based on the theory of planned behavior(TPB),the relationship between ownership perception and external environment perception and the original structure of TPB(ie,personal attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control and entrepreneurial intention)is analyzed. Finally, the study collected data from 105 interviewed scholars and tested the proposed conceptual model using the partial least squares structural equation model(PLS-SEM)method.The findings reveal a significant and non-significant path relationship between various factors,as well as the direct and indirect effects of ownership perception and external context perception on academic entrepreneurial intentions and their proximal factors. At the end of the article, the value points of this research and the areas that still need improvement are discussed, which provides a more in-depth research perspective for future researchers and proposes relevant policy recommendations.
