Urban clusters as a product of regional spatial organization,is the sigh of urban development.As an important support for the economic development of urban clusters,the development of logistics industry is different due to the differences of location advantages,transportation and labor costs,investment environment and so on.Besides,due to the administrative division and management system,there are many uncoordinated phenomena in the development of the logistics among cities within the urban clusters,which has seriously hindered the healthy and rapid development of the logistics industry in Chinese urban clusters.Therefore,it has great significance to improve the development of logistics,narrow its regional differences,break the hierarchical structure of cities,strengthen the contacts between cities,and achieve the coordinated development of logistics of the urban clusters.Based on the background and purposes of the research,this paper discusses the connotation of the coordinated development of logistics of urban clusters based on the aspects of regional differences and network structure.This paper first measures the level of logistics development of the urban clusters,then analyzes its regional differences,tests its convergence,and then examines the characteristics and impact effects of the network structure of logistics development of the urban clusters.Finally,this paper explores the coordination mechanism of logistics.The content and main conclusions of this research are as follows.1.The analysis of the level of logistics development in five urban clusters.Through ten indicators from the four dimensions of supportive capability of economic development environment,management operational capability,supporting capability of logistics infrastructure and supportability of information system,this paper use the method of principal component analysis to measure the level of the logistics development in 79 cities in five urban cluster from 2003 to 2015.The result shows that the level of logistics development not only between urban clusters but also within urban clusters is different.The development of logistics industry in Pearl River Delta is the best,while not very well in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River and Chengdu-Chongqing urban clusters.2.Regional differences and convergence of logistics industry in five urban clusters.This paper firstly uses the methods of kernel density nonparametric estimation and Dagum Gini coefficient to examine the distribution dynamics and regional differences of five urban clusters,and then tests its convergence.The results show as following.(1)The development of the logistics has an upward trend in overall urban clusters and all other urban clusters,and the absolute differences in the megalopolis have shown an expanding trend.(2)The logistics development of five urban clusters disparity no matter within the urban clusters or between the urban clusters is wide,such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Chengdu-Chongqing urban clusters.The differences between Pearl River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing,and the differences between Pearl River Delta and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River are large.The differences between five urban clusters remained the main source of the spatial difference of logistics development.(3)The logistics development of overall urban clusters,the Yangtze River Delta,Pearl River Delta,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,and Chengdu-Chongqing urban clusters have ?-converged,while the logistics in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River has a divergence.(4)The five urban clusters show an absolute ? convergence and conditional ? convergence.The coefficient or A of the spatial econometric model of each urban clusters is significantly positive,which shows that the spatial spillover effect has a positive effect on the convergence of logistics industry in urban clusters,especially on the Pearl River Delta.3.Network Structure of the logistics industry in five urban clusters.This paper first uses the gravity model to determine the spatial relationship,and then uses the method of social network analysis to analyze the characteristics and effects of network structure of the five urban clusters.The results show as following.(1)Though the network density of logistics of urban clusters is on the rise,the connection of logistics industry in five urban clusters is not close.The graph hierarchy in five urban clusters is stem.The graph hierarchical structure has gradually been broken in the Yangtze River Delta,Pearl River Delta,and Chengdu-Chongqing urban clusters,while the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River is different.Graph efficiency show a declining trend,which means the stability of the network is improving.(2)The cities,such as Shanghai and Hangzhou of Yangtze River Delta,Guangzhou and Dongguan of Pearl River Delta,Beijing and Tianjin of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,Nanchang and Changsha of the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River,Chongqing,Chengdu and Ziyang of Chengdu-Chongqing urban clusters,locate in the center of the network playing a role of "bridge" and "intermediary".(3)The analysis of the effect of logistics network structure shows that the increase of network density and the decrease of graph efficiency can significantly improve the level of logistics development and narrow the regional differences.The impact of graph hierarchy on different megalopolis is different.The reduction of graph hierarchy can promote the development of logistics and reduce the spatial differences in the Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing,but the impact on the logistics in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban clusters is different.The spatial correlation network structure also plays a significant role in promoting the logistics development of urban clusters.Based on the above conclusions,this paper put forward to the mechanism for promoting the coordinated development of logistics industry from the aspects of establishing multi-level government coordination mechanisms,optimizing the environment for cross-regional cooperation of logistics companies,broadening spatial spillovers,and improving foreign investment introduction mechanisms.
