As an important part of the rural financial system, rural commercial banks bear the important mission of supporting the development of “agriculture, rural areas and farmers”.At present, there are 6 listed agricultural commercial banks in A shares, all of which are concentrated in Jiangsu. From a national perspective,at least 26 rural commercial banks are currently preparing for listing. At this time, studying the corporate governance status of listed banks can provide a useful reference for commercial banks that have just listed and are about to go public.Based on this, this paper selects the operating data of six listed agricultural commercial banks in Jiangsu Province from 2010 to 2018 from the perspective of ownership structure and performance of rural commercial banks. From the static and dynamic perspectives,it analyzes the ownership structure of all listed agricultural commercial banks in Jiangsu Province. The impact of business performance on the impact of multiple major shareholders, equity checks and balances, the proportion of independent directors, local government holdings and management shareholdings on business performance.Found:(1)The existence of multiple major shareholders will inhibit bank performance. The greater the number of other major shareholders, the greater the negative effect on performance, and to some extent provide evidence support for the interest coordination hypothesis.(2)Equity balance tends to inhibit bank performance, and higher equity checks and balances have poor bank performance. In theory, the appropriate equity balance can not only inhibit the “open-end motives” of major shareholders, but also avoid “over-supervision” and help improve bank performance. However,if the value is too high or too low,it is not conducive to bank performance.Where is the appropriate “degree”,it needs to be tested more by practice.(3)The independent director mechanism of the bank does not have a significant impact on performance, and the supervisory role is not obvious.(4)Although the government can reduce information asymmetry in credit, local government holdings show more inhibition of future performance;(5)incentives for management shareholding are not obvious, bank performance and internal management The layer does not have a significant impact. Finally, several points are put forward on how to optimize the ownership structure of the rural commercial banks.
