The Big Changes Of GuanShe:Research Into The Livelihood Changes Of A She Village

This paper takes Guanshe,a minority village in southern Fujian Province,as the object of study and investigation.GuanShe is a typical She ethnic village,which is located in the northeast of Xinxu town.In 2003,The GuanShe village gradually abandoned the mountain rice planting economy and switched to the tea economy,which significantly improved the social and economic living standards of the villagers.In 2014,The GuanShe village seized the opportunity of policy and was selected as“the first batch of ethnic minority villages to embark on the road of development of characteristic villages.!n just a few decades;the GuanShe have realized the transition from traditional self-sufficient agriculture to modern agriculture and from modern agriculture to modern service industry.The theme of this study is the transformation process and motivation of the social and economic life of the GuanShe.This paper obtains first-hand information in Guanshe village by anthropological fieldwork.In the process of field investigation and analysis,structural and semi-structural interviews are combined with literature analysis.In this paper,the author first understands the history of village migration,to provide a general historical background for further understanding of Guanshe village.Secondly,on the basis of understanding the traditional mountain planting economy of The GuanShe village,the process of two great changes in The GuanShe village was recorded in the form of ethnography.Finally,the article analyses the motivation of the change of the way of livelihood in Guanshe Village from the four perspectives of villagers themselves,national policies,local governments and local elites.This paper holds that the motivation of the change of livelihood in Guanshe Village is determined by the villagers self-participation in terms of internal factors;the national policy influences the development of Guanshe Village and provides policy support for its development;the local government plays a leading role in the development of the village;and the local elite plays a planning and promoting role in the development of the village.Only under the joint action of the villagers,the government and local elites of Guanshe village,can Guanshe village embark on the road of national tourism economy.
