The background of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the revitalized environment in Northeast China have created good opportunities for port economy and local economic development in Yanbian. In the current context, studying how to promote the coordinated development of port economy and local economy in Yanbian region will not only help promote the strategy of revitalizing the Northeast, but also contribute to the balanced development of the Yanbian region, and it will also have great significance for creating a harmonious and prosperous international environment.Guided by international trade theory, local economic theory, economic integration theory and coupling coordination degree theory, this paper uses entropy method, linear weighting method, coupling coordination degree model and other quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to port economy in Yanbian area. The issue of coordinated development of local economic and economic development has been studied.Based on the relevant research results and related theories at home and abroad, this paper uses the statistical data of 2007-2016 to study the ten border ports and carrier counties in Yanbian area, and the theory of the two-way influence mechanism between border port economy and local economy.Based on the framework, the coupling coordination degree model is used to construct the evaluation index system of the port economy and the local economy, and the coordinated development of the border port economy and the local economy in Yanbian area is studied. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)From 2007 to 2016,the overall level of port economic development in arious port cities in Yanbian area was relatively low.Except for the trend of getting better in Hunchun City, the port economy of Tumen,Helong and Longjing also showed a trend of continuous decline; The overall level of local economic development in various port cities in Yanbian area has been preferred, and the level of economic development has been continuously growing for 10 years.(2)From 2007 to 2016,the port economy and local economic coordination levels of the cities in Yanbian area are at an antagonistic stage, and the mean of the coordination level is in an imbalance stage.Among them, the coordination degree of port economy and local economy in Hunchun City has changed from serious imbalance to primary coordination;the coordination degree between port economy and local economy in Tumen City has changed from moderate to slight disorder;and the economic and local economy of Longkou port and local economy The degree of coordination has changed from a serious imbalance to a reluctant coordination;the coordination degree between the port economy and the local economy in Longjing City has changed from a mild disorder to an oncoming disorder. The spatial gap of coordination has been slightly expanded, and the economic development of ports has lagged behind. However, the coordination of the two systems has been optimized year by year, and the overall development has been coordinated.(3)The local economic growth in Yanbian area has limited effect on the economic growth of border ports.Due to the backwardness of the manufacturing industry in Yanbian, the small scale of production and the low competitiveness of products, most of the goods sold to overseas markets through border ports are manufactured in the eastern coastal provinces, and it is impossible to carry out in-depth processing on the spot to realize the added value of imported products. The border crossings in Yanbian area are still in the status of logistics channel and transit and distribution status. The pattern of goods at the border port can not be changed in the short term. The economic growth in Yanbian has not yet become the main cause of the growth of import and export of border ports.
