After 40 years of development,China's agricultural development has achieved brilliant achievements, especially in the last decade. However, with the continuous improvement of the level of industrialization and urbanization, the continuous increase in the population and the improvement of people's quality of life, the demand for agricultural products will show a rigid growth. The lack of resources and the destruction of the environment have particularly affected the agricultural production activities.Traditional agricultural production methods will be difficult to sustain.Only by strengthening agricultural technology innovation and improving the adoption rate of agricultural technology can we accelerate the transformation of agricultural production methods and realize the rapid development of agriculture. Therefore,in 2010,the“No.1 Document" promulgated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed to establish a production model for sustainable agricultural development and promote the strategic layout of eco-friendly agricultural development, which pointed out the direction for the future development of Chinese agriculture. As an important supporting industry for national economic development, the realization of agricultural modernization is an important link in the realization of a well-off society in an all-round way,and the realization of agricultural modernization depends on the use of agricultural technology. Therefore, studying the factors affecting the adoption behavior of farmers' agricultural technology is not only conducive to the application of advanced agricultural technology to the agricultural production process, but also has important significance for the formulation of the national agricultural technology system and the promotion of the level of agricultural modernization.China's current agricultural technology development stage belongs to the development stage of "dual technology" where traditional agricultural technology and modern agricultural technology coexist.China's agricultural technology adoption rate is far lower than that of developed countries' agricultural technology adoption rate, which has become the constraint to the national agricultural industrial structure optimization. The main obstacles to improving agricultural production efficiency and increasing the international competitiveness of agricultural products. This paper uses the China General Social Survey(CGSS)data to study the impact of agricultural technology on agricultural productivity and household welfare.Firstly, the influencing factors of agricultural technology adoption are mainly studied, which are roughly divided into two categories, namely, individual characteristics and family characteristics.Among them, the individual characteristics of farmers mainly include the age of the head of the household, the level of education and the health status of the head of the household;the characteristics of the family mainly include marital status and economic status.Secondly, when analyzing the impact of agricultural technology on agricultural productivity and family welfare, considering the differences in family characteristics and the endogenous problems of the model, this paper adopts the propensity score matching method(PSM)for processing effect analysis, which can be more accurate.Measuring the“pure effect" of agricultural technology on agricultural productivity and family welfare.Because the propensity score matching method only considers the problem of family difference and endogeneity, and does not consider the difference of processing effect between different samples;therefore,we divide the sample into different levels according to different indicators, this analysis can solve Heterogeneity issues. Finally, because the propensity score matching method does not consider the existence of unobservable factors, this paper uses the endogenous processing effect model to test its robustness, and compares the results obtained with the usage propensity score matching method.A consistent conclusion can be drawn:the use of agricultural technology can indeed increase agricultural productivity and family welfare. Most of the previous scholars either qualitatively analyzed the role of agricultural technology adoption in agricultural productivity,or used general binary selection equations to establish models;few literature considerations were due to unobservable factors and endogeneity problems in the application of the technology.presence.The innovation of this paper is to more accurately analyze the effect of technology adoption on agricultural productivity and household welfare improvement by adopting propensity score matching method and endogenous processing effect model,so that the formulation of agricultural technology policy is more directional and pertinent.
