Analysis Of Corn Silage Industry In Shanxi Province

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,China’s silage corn industry has achieved considerable development.Shanxi Province,as the country’s main silage corn production area,has gradually formed a relatively complete industrial chain from variety cultivation to planting,processing and sales,etc.,and the industry scale and economic benefits continue to improve.In recent years,with the emphasis of the National Central No.1 Document and the Shanxi Provincial Planting Structure Adjustment Policy on the cultivation and processing of silage corn,the status of the silage corn industry in Shanxi Province is becoming more and more important in the national economy,which is an important reform direction for the optimization of grain structure.It is also a key supporting industry for the development of regional animal husbandry.Despite the obvious development advantages,the development of silage corn industry in Shanxi Province is still immature,with small scale,low efficiency and insufficient regional advantages.Therefore,the analysis of the status quo of silage corn industry in Shanxi Province plays an important role in understanding the situation and formulating industrial policies.This paper divides the silage corn industry in Shanxi Province into four parts,and studies the development status of silage corn industry from four aspects: planting,processing,market and consumption.The research results show that in terms of planting,the silage corn industry in Shanxi Province is in the forefront nationwide,and the planting area,output,and economic benefits are higher than the national average.It has been in a steady improvement stage for many years,However,there is still a gap compared with the provinces such as Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang;through planting experiments and research and analysis,it is concluded that the cost per mu of silage corn is about 556 yuan,the net income is about 483 yuan,and in the planting process,the field is analyzed through the production function.The management link has the greatest impact on economic efficiency.In terms of processing,different silage processing methods in Shanxi Province mainly include two methods :silo storage and balage,in which the silo has Higher quality requirements,and the quality of silage in high quality silo is higher than that of low quality silo.The balage has lower requirements on processing methods;the difference in feed quality between the two processing methods is not significant,but the economic benefit of balageis much higher than that of silo;Silage corn processing companies have advantages in cost and quality competitiveness compared to alternative forage(alfalfa,oat,and triticale)processing companies,but marketing competitiveness is not strong;in the market,silage corn market has great development potential,and circulation channels and promotion methods are more comprehensive;from the market structure of Shanxi Province,The silage corn industry is a highly concentrated industry with high levels of industrial differentiation and barriers to entry and exit.From the perspective of final consumption,although the silage corn planting area and output in Shanxi Province have increased year after year,it still does not fill the gap in the livestock market.Finally,in view of the current situation and existing problems of silage corn industry in Shanxi Province,suggestions on perfecting the technical system,perfecting the market system,supporting the government,and increasing marketing are put forward.
