An effective way to improve the division of labor of China's manufacturing industry in global production is to promote manufacturing upgrades.Productive services can promote the upgrading of manufacturing industry through the effects of technological advances in intermediate variables. Therefore,it is of great significance to upgrade the domestic manufacturing industry with the production service trade to fill the relatively lagging production service industry. This paper will study the theory, mechanism, status quo and empirical aspects.Firstly, the related theories are related to the theory of industrial relevance,Chenery industrialization stage theory and the comparative advantage theory of Ricardo and the theory of transaction cost.Secondly, the analysis shows that the producer service trade will affect the upgrading of the manufacturing industry through human capital, specialized production, context, technology spillovers, economic of scale, competitive effects and capital accumulation. Then use the relevant data from 1997 to 2017 to measure the status of producer service trade and manufacturing upgrade. Finally, the construction model empirically analyzes the relationship between the overall level of production service trade and the level of manufacturing and the upgrading of manufacturing industry, and proposes relevant suggestions for upgrading China's manufacturing industry.Through this paper,we can conclude that China's productive service trade started late and its development is relatively lagging behind.Although in recent years,China's productive service trade has developed rapidly and its position in service trade has gradually increased, its structure still exists. Some unreasonable status quo, mainly low-tech service transactions, and relatively low-tech service transactions. From a global perspective,China's manufacturing value-added has a higher proportion of GDP,and its value-added has grown rapidly.Manufacturing has become an important component supporting China's economic and social development.China's manufacturing industry continues to rise in the direction of heightening and rationalization. From the results of empirical analysis,it can be concluded that the trade in transport services, insurance and pension services, trade in intellectual property services and trade in computer information services will have a positive impact on labor-intensive manufacturing.Financial services import trade, intellectual property import trade and computer information service import trade have no significant effect on the capital-intensive manufacturing industry.Transportation services trade has a positive impact on capital-intensive manufacturing. The import trade statistics of insurance and pension services passed the significant test of the model.Transportation services import trade has a higher impact on technology-intensive manufacturing than on labor and capital-intensive manufacturing. The import of intellectual property services has a relatively high impact on technology-intensive manufacturing, and the impact of computer information service import trade on technology-intensive manufacturing is also significant.
