Due to worldwide economic globalization,the competition among enterprises is now extremely intense.Optimizing performance management turns out to be an important method to improve core-competitiveness.However,there are serious problems existing in the performance management of most of Chinese Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs),such as absence of performance culture,weakness of performance management awareness and unsatisfying effect of performance management.Aiming at improving performance management practices of enterprises,this dissertation will take SJ,a typical representation of Chinese SME,as the research object;it will illustrate SJ's current operation situation and its development history;will soundly and deeply analyze the current problems in SJ's performance management system by using several research methods such as questionnaires,interviews and statistical analysis;and will devise new tactics in order to perfect SJ's performance management systematically.Specifically,new tactics are as follows: establish the objectives,the basic ideas and the major principles of SJ's performance management;cultivate the ideology of performance management and organizational structure which benefits performance management;while balancing between the regulator and the regulated,emphasize standardization;perfect SJ's communication and feedback mechanism and improve the quality of communication,ensuring fairness and openness;utilize the achievement of performance management,motivate the proactivity and creativity of employees and accomplish SJ's p erformance management strategic objectives.This dissertation not only can be helpful for SJ's performance management,but also inspire other SMEs with similar situations.
