Research On The Integration Of The Chongqing Metropolitan Area

With the deepening of economic globalization,a new round of economic competition at home and abroad has gradually evolved from a single inter-city competition to a competition between urbanized regions or urban groups.Currently,the development of major cities in the world obviously shows the feature of regionalization and collectivization.In order to adapt to changes of the world economy,the major cities,as the main engines of regional economic development,must expand new development space and seek for optimal allocation of resources within a larger space.In view of this,based on the entire region,planning urban development from the perspective of regional integration,and then enhancing the overall competitiveness of the region,has become a pragmatic choice for big cities to participate in a new round of domestic and foreign competition.Under the above background,metropolitan area,as a special urban spatial form in the process of urban regionalization,is becoming an important unit of production and life.Faced with the new features of urban development,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study how to promote the development of metropolitan areas and accelerate its integration process.This paper reviews domestic and foreign literature which is relevant to metropolitan area,and discusses and summarizes relevant theoretical research combined with the integration of metropolitan areas.On this basis,taking Chongqing metropolitan area as the research object,this paper analyzes the current situation and main problems of the integrative development of Chongqing metropolitan area.The paper is mainly divided into the following parts:The first chapter mainly involves the introduction and description of the background and research significance,reviewing the relevant research progress at home and abroad,briefly expounding the main analysis framework and technical route of the study,and enumerating the potential innovations and the shortcomings of the paper.The second chapter is about the concept definition and theoretical review of the metropolitan area research.First of all,it analyzes the basic concepts involved in the research,and then briefly explains and summarizes the relevant theories.Chapter three and chapter four are the core parts.The third chapter builds a comprehensive evaluation index system for the integrative development of Chongqing metropolitan area from five aspects including infrastructure,industry,market,public service and environmental protection.Chapter four calculates the integration index of Chongqing metropolitan area by applying the entropy-weighted method,and comprehensively evaluates the integrative development levels of various sections of the Chongqing metropolitan area in different aspects.On the basis of this,the paper analyzes the reasons for the difference of the integrative development level of the Chongqing metropolitan area.The fifth chapter mainly analyzes the main problems faced by the integrative development of Chongqing metropolitan area.The sixth chapter mainly deals with the related policy recommendations for promoting the integration process of Chongqing metropolitan area.The seventh chapter is the conclusion of the dissertation.It refines and summarizes the main conclusions of the study,and puts forward the issues that need further investigation in the follow-up study.
