Applying e-business of agricultural product is conducive to alleviating the information asymmetry of agricultural products, reducing the intermediate link of agricultural product circulation, changing the production and sale mode of traditional agriculture, and promoting the development of ?Internet + modern agriculture?.However, the e-business of agricultural product in China starts late and is backward relatively.Suffering deficit becomes the normal in this industry and only a few firms can achieve sustainable development, which indicates that e-business of agricultural products is actually facing huge crisis behind superficial prosperity. How to break the plight of low performance of e-commerce of agricultural products and bring into its potential,is a concern issue for the firms that engage in e-commerce of agricultural products.Based on dynamic capability theory and resource-based theory, this paper discusses the impact of e-business capacity of agricultural products on organizational agility and firm performance. The main research contributions include two aspects:Firstly, based on the dynamic capability theory, this paper builds a model of the factors affecting organizational agility in the context of e-business of agricultural products, and explores the changing law of the relationship between e-business capacity of agricultural products and organizational agility under environmental uncertainty. The empirical results indicate that e-business capacity of agricultural products have positive impacts on market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility respectively.Furthermore,e-business capability of agricultural products has a greater effect on market capitalizing agility than operation adjustment agility.Environmental complexity positively moderates the impacts of e-business capacity of agricultural products on market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility, while environmental dynamism does not play a moderating role in the relationships between e-business capacity of agricultural products and market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility. The results also find that talent capability is the most important dimension of e-business capacity of agricultural products. The conclusions will help firms to make reasonable arrangements for resources, make full use of external environment, improve e-business capabilities of agricultural products, promote organizational agility, eventually gain competitive advantages and economic benefits.Secondly, based on resource-based theory and from the perspective of technology diffusion, this paper builds a model of the factors affecting firm performance in the context of e-business of agricultural products, and discusses the internal mechanism of the effect of e-business capability on firm performance. The empirical results show that market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility play important mediating roles in conveying positive influences of e-business capability dimensions on financial performance and non-financial performance.Specifically, management capability, talent capability and technology capability have different influences on market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility, among which talent capability plays the most important role; Both market capitalizing agility and operation adjustment agility have positive impacts on financial performance and non-financial performance respectively;Market capitalizing agility has a greater impact on financial performance than operation adjustment agility, while it has a lesser impact on non-financial performance. Therefore, firms should effectively and rationally invest in technology, talent and management of resources in e-business of agricultural product to improve organizational agility and obtain competitive advantages.
