In this study,the present situation of Kunming fresh cut flower industry was studied by literature review,and the problem of Kunming fresh cut flower industry was studied by the method of questionnaire survey.The main research results and conclusions are as follows.This study shows that the current development of Kunming fresh cut flower industry is in good condition.The production of Kunming fresh cut flowers has risen steadily in the past 7 years,but its growth rate began to fall from 2012.The fresh cut flower industry in Kunming district and County is deeply affected by the government policy.the Government's policy in the area of district function,county planning and poverty alleviation has greatly influenced the development of the fresh cut flower industry in Kunming.About the sellers of fresh cut flowers.(1)A positive correlation was observed between the level of education and the income/wage growth of a seller,regardless of self-employed or corporate employees.Sellers with higher education levels are more capable of improving their own economic level.Moreover,the level of education is closely related to the initiative of accepting and applying new technology.(2)The popularization of electronic commerce will inevitably cause some disadvantage to traditional sellers of fresh cut flowers to a certain extent,while some sellers are willing to try and use electronic commerce to promote sales,and gradually manage some electronic commerce skills,and eventually exploit the advantages of electronic commerce in their daily business.(3)Cold chain logistics is very important to fresh cut flowers,but the sellers of fresh cut flowers with less income/profit are unable to bear the cost of using the cold chain logistics,which will undoubtedly become a restain to their future development.(4)The study also found that some external factors,such as shop rents and economic environment,also had a certain effect on the profit of the sellers.About the consumers of fresh cut flowers.(1)There is no significant difference in the acceptability of the price of fresh cut flowers among consumers of different genders,but the frequency of buying fresh cut flowers by female consumers was significantly higher than that of male consumers.(2)The age of most fresh cut flowers consumers ranged from 16 to 25,and their requirements for the packaging of fresh cut flowers were higher than other age groups.(3)Most consumers care about the artistic effects of fresh cut flowers when buying such products,but often overlook other factors;at the same time,analysis showed that lily were of higher demand in term of purchase frequency,while the purchase frequency of rose and carnation was significantly lower.(4)Professional flower shops and exhibitions are the main places where consumers but fresh cut flower,and electronic commerce also occupies a certain proportion.Our analyses discovered the following potential problems in the fresh cut flower industry of Kunming:(1)The education level of most sellers is limited.(2)The business expansion of most sellers is restricted by store rent.(3)Traditional sales are impacted or even threatened by electronic commerce.(4)Limited salary or income of sale employees reduced their enthusiasm in the daily work.(5)Some production technologies are out of date.(6)The application of cold chain logistics among sellers are limited.(7)Some sellers are not familiar with the consumers' behavior of preferences.This study proposes the following potential countermeasures to solve the abovementioned problems.(1)Sellers must continue self-learning in order to expand the scope of knowledge,which would enhance the ability to accept and adopt new technologies.(2)Local authorities should enhance rent regulation to alleviate the stress to sellers.(3)Sellers should learn to manage electronic commerce technology to adapt to the trend in business.(4)Companies or business owners should raise their employees' salary to stimulate their enthusiasm.(5)Producers of fresh cut flowers should manage advanced techniques from developed countries or business.(6)Promote the application of cold chain logistics.(7)Sellers should study consumers' behavior,demands,and preferences to elevate the competence of their products.
