Analysis On The Impact Of Human Capital And Social Capital On Poverty Reduction Of Households

Worldwide poverty and anti-poverty have been one of the most important problem in improving the living environment and the quality of life for all the human-beings.With the deepening of research on poverty,the academic community has a rich and detailed discussion on the connotation,nature,poverty mechanism and anti-poverty measuresof poverty,and a relatively perfect research system has been formed.The research focuses on the multi-dimensional discussion of political science,sociology,demography and cultural system from the previous single material assistance.Among them,the factors such as human capital and social capital have important influence and practical significance to households' poverty reduction.The lack of human capital and the impoverishment of social capital are not only one factors that lead to poverty trap,it is also the main path and measures for the farmers to get out of poverty,improve development opportunities and their living conditions.The current research results also show that human capital and social capital have positive influence on household income and poverty reduction.Therefore,in the current stage of targeted poverty alleviation strategy background,it has practical significance and policy meaning to study the joint mechanism of human capital and social capital on the poverty reduction and the interaction and threshold effect between them.This study takes 1,741 rural households in poverty-stricken areas of Gan Su province as an example,from the connotation of poverty,human capital and social capital,the joint action mechanism of human capital and social capital on poverty reduction is the starting point,analyzes the direct and indirect influence mechanism of human capital and social capital on households' poverty reduction,fully explores the interaction mechanism between the two.At the same time,on the basis of literature review and theoretical analysis,join in the basic characteristics of poverty situation,human capital and social capital in Gan Su province.In the empirical aspect,by establishing the corresponding logit model and Hansen's self-threshold regression model,analyzes the interaction effect of human capital and social capital on households' poverty and the threshold effect of both.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The interaction effect of the human capital and social capital have a significant negative influence on households poverty.It shows that there is a certain substitution relationship between the two,that is,when the farmer's human capital is deficient,the cultivation of social capital can reduce the probability of the occurrence of poverty.When the family social capital is poorer,raising the quantity and quality of human capital have the same effect.2.The human capital and social capital have obvious threshold characteristics for the incomeof poor households.Only the human capital and social capital above the threshold value can play an active role in poverty reduction.Therefore,in the background of targeted poverty reduction in new period,the factors of joint influence mechanism,interaction mechanism and the threshold condition of human capital and social capital should be fully understood,so we are truly contributing to poverty reduction,and improving the income for poor households.
