Visual perception and the landscape assessment of mountain tourist landscape are very important for its tourist development,utilization,protection and landscape planning.At present,many researches focus on landscape types,characteristics and assessment,but few studies are conducted from the combination of visual perception and landscape assessment.This article introduced eye-movement analysis method into mountain tourist landscape research.Taking the 9 types of mountain landscapes from China's scenic spots as our study content,this article obtained the eye movement data recorded by eye tracking device when subjects were watching mountain tourist landscape pictures,and the subjects'assessment data of mountain tourist landscape through the questionnaire survey,to study the differences of visual perception and the landscape assessment among different landscape types.This study also analyzed the visual perception and assessment difference among demographic features,such as gender,expertise and the cultural background between Chinese and foreign students.At the end,we attempted to explore the relationship between the visual perception and subjective assessment by correlation analysis,expecting to reveal the relationship between visual perception and subjective assessment,and reveal the humanistic characteristics of mountain tourist landscape in eastern China.The conclusions are obtained by the experiment as follow:(1)9 types of mountain tourist landscape in Eastern China have different visual perception.The artificial landscape in mountain tourist landscape is more prominent than natural landscape,which can arouse people's visual attention.The visual perception of natural landscape such as mountain,water and clouds are lower,while the visual attention of buildings such as Buddhist temples,Taoist temples and hotels are higher.(2)9 types of mountain tourist landscape in Eastern China have different landscape assessment value.Pavilion and clouds landscape have a higher landscape assessment value.Hotel and inscriptions have a lower value of landscape assessment.As for landscape preference,people prefer mountain,water,clouds and pavilion landscapes,which are more natural and attractive to people.(3)Visual perception has no obvious correlation with landscape beauty,uniqueness and preference.In terms of visual perception,hotels attract more visual attention,while in landscape assessment,the beauty,uniqueness and preference of hotel landscape are relatively low.Therefore,for some landscapes,the more visual attention means more visual attraction they have,but not the attraction for travel.(4)Gender has a significant impact on landscape visual perception,but not on landscape assessment.Men devote more visual attention to mountain scenery than women.Men have a stronger visual orientation in landscape attention.They prefer to Buddhist temples,Taoist temple and hotel landscapes than others,and women are more balanced in all landscapes.(5)Expertise has less impact both on landscape visual perception and landscape assessment.The fixation count and fixation duration of the expert subjects are generally higher than the laymen,but the difference is not huge.The expert subjects pay more visual attention on Buddhist temple landscape.The preference assessment of expert subjects on hotel landscape is lower than laymen,indicating that expertise makes more sensitive perception about landscape's negative elements.(6)Cultural background difference between Chinese and foreigners has less impact on landscape visual perception,but has a significant impact on landscape assessment.Mountain tourist landscape can attract more visual attention to foreigner subjects.Chinese and foreigner participants have a different visual attention tendency in different landscapes,Chinese tend to pay more visual attention on Buddhist temples and inscriptions landscapes,and foreigners pay more visual attention on hotel and pavilion landscapes.There are significant differences between Chinese and foreigners in the value of landscape beauty,uniqueness and preference,which shows that the foreigners' assessment of mountain tourist landscape is higher than Chinese.In Eastern China's mountain tourist landscapes,people's subjective visual assessment is given priority to the scenic natural landscape.While under the influence of human activities for a long time,Eastern China's mountains formed the situation as a Chinese saying that famous mountains are occupied by monk.As a result,in the eye visual assessment,the artificial landscapes such as Buddhist temple,Taoist temple in Eastern China's mountains become the main visual elements,therefore have a higher visual attention and prominent visual focus points.Eastern China's mountain tourist landscapes have a natural scenery theme in people's minds,but contains a deep cultural meaning.Eastern China mountain tourist landscape contains a profound humanistic connotation.The harmonious coexistence of natural theme and cultural connotation in Eastern China's mountains has a strong attraction for foreign tourists.of Chinese.
