In the context of economic globalization and urbanization, large numbers of factors of production gather in metropolises at an increasingly higher speed, and besides, urban agglomeration and economic belt which containing multiple urban agglomerations also evolves into a significant unit for the participation in regional competition. In this process, traffic infrastructures facilitate economic growth of urban agglomeration from four perspectives, such as investment stimulation and multiplier effect.Based on the 2005-2014 data of the Yangtze River Economic Zone,an empirical study on the influence of traffic infrastructures over regional economic growth was conducted by dint of Moran's I and SDM method. The findings showed that there was a significant spatial autocorrelation between construction of traffic infrastructures and economic growth in cities within the Yangtze River Economic Zone, the construction of traffic infrastructures played a remarkable role in facilitating municipal economic growth. It is suggested that the Yangtze River Economic Zone should establish a collaborative development system for urban agglomeration, and stimulate spatial overflow effects.Apart from these, there is a need to speed up construction of road networks as well as to improve the utilization efficiency of traffic infrastructures.Meanwhile, the government should concentrate on improving the labor efficiency, strengthening industry upgrading and avoiding excessive government investment.
