The growing development of modern radar and communication system has promoted the advancement of equipment in the direction of multi-functionality and high integration. As one of the most important methods of modern communication technology, phased array antennas are crucial to the performance of the whole system. This thesis combines the hotspots of phased array antennas with engineering projects to study on ultra-wideband low-profile and wide-angle scanning phased array antennas. The main research contents can be divided into the following parts:1.Research on ultra-wideband high gain bow-tie slot antenna array: Based on the principle of slot antennas and bow-tie antennas,a wideband bow-tie slot antenna fed with CPW is designed, which has good polarization purity.A novel aperture coupled bow-tie slot antenna is studied to achieve high gain.A miniaturization design using the parasitic loading technology is proposed and the impedance bandwidth of 1?3.5GHz is obtained. The performance of the antenna is verified by measurement, and a one-dimensional array is degined by the improved unit with the scanning range of ±45°.2.Research on ultra-wideband low-profile wide-angle scanning phased array: This paper expounds the principle of tight coupling effect of arrays.A miniaturied tightly coupled Vivaldi phased array with triple octave is designed when slots loded on the edge of unit.To solve the problem of high profile,a method that can increase the effective current path of the antenna is studied in this paper and the optimized array shows a six-octive bandwidth with low profile. The wide-angle matching layer is also added to realize the two-dimensional wide-angle scanning of the array.3.Design on X-band wide angle scanning small array: An X-band wide-angle scanning Vivaldi phased array is designed for the practical application requirements, which uses a triangular array to reduce the elements and cut the cost. The method of deriving the beam scanning performance of the array using the impedance and radiation characteristics of the small array central unit is presented.A 5×8 elements small array is designed and the measured results show great consistency with simulation results, the relationship between beam width of unit antenna and gain loss of the array is verified at the same time.
