A stone rhinoceros in Chengdu museum is the largest round stone carving found in China in that period,which is of great archaeological and artistic research value.Due to its long-term underground burial and the influence of temperature and humidity,a variety of diseases and continuous deterioration have appeared,which urgently need high quality and efficient methods to survey it.Based on the investigation and analysis on the spot,the preservation environment,production technology and materials,as well as the disease status of cultural relics were obtained.Digital survey method was used to collect data and obtain comprehensive information such as shape,color and quality.On this basis,the research was carried out to extract and statistically analyze the disease information on the 3d model.Meanwhile,the 3d disease map was drawn by using the 3d color model to accurately record the disease characteristics of cultural relics.This paper analyzes the main disease types and causes of cultural relics,and the deterioration tendency of cultural relics,and puts forward some protection Suggestions.Virtual reality technology is used to study the overall art form and cultural characteristics of cultural relics,so as to understand the art,and historical and cultural information behind them,thus provide sufficient and detailed data for the in-depth excavation of cultural relic attribute data and the restoration and restoration of cultural relics.The research results include the following three points:First,through the statistical analysis of the disease quantity of stone beast,it can be seen that the most serious disease of the stone cultural relic is the man-made damage,that is,the holes are caused by steel reinforcement;Secondly,the surface flaky peeling disease is related to the material of stone cultural relics and the buried wet environment.The diseases with potential risks mainly include:surface flaking and hole-shaped weathering diseases,which have a large area and directly affect the preservation of cultural relics;Fish scale upwarping and peeling disease in an active state,may cause the fall of stone,which should be paid attention to;which may cause large area of stone to fall off;Cement repairing disease should be removed in time to avoid further damage.Second,the exact size of the stone beast is obtained through the digital scan.It is found that the body length and ornamentation of the stone beast accord with the golden ratio,which have high aesthetic value.Comparing it with the ancient shu culture,we can prove that the construction time of the stone beast may be very close to that of qin and shu.Third,compared with the traditional survey method,the use of three-dimensional survey technology for the protection of cultural relics has been greatly improved,especially for the large,irregular,uneven surface of stone cultural relics such as the object of this survey,more prominent advantages.It provides a good case for other cultural relics protection in the future.
