Multiple input and multiple output(MIMO)radar has many advantages over traditional phased array radar,including good anti intercept performance,better angle resolution,stronger detection capability of weak target signal and improved clutter dynamic range.There are more and more researches on MIMO radar.A MIMO radar system RF front-end is proposed and constructed in this paper.The specific contents include:First of all,this paper introduces the design of the MIMO radar system,including the MIMO radar principle and a variety of advantages achieved by the virtual array technology,application of multi carrier frequency FMCW in the MIMO radar system,principle and advantages of a two sweeping VCO source heterodyne receiver structure.Finally,the MIMO radar system and its parameters are established.Secondly,the research and design of the transmitter module and receiver module of the MIMO radar system are completed respectively.It includes the design of the linear frequency modulation source module circuit,the design of the high and low frequency VCO source module circuit,the design of the receiver matching filter circuit,and the design of the IF amplifier module circuit.It also includes the design and simulation of microstrip filter and power divider and the design of mixer,power amplifier,low noise amplifier,I/Q demodulator circuit.Finally,on the basis of successful construction of the components of the above modules,the RF front end of the system is set up.Combined with the digital signal processing module circuit,the data acquisition and correlation signal processing algorithm validation through outdoor experiments proves that the MIMO radar system RF front end proposed in this paper is practical and effective.
