With the continuous development of global information technology,computer networks have spread to colleges and universities at all levels and become universally welcomed by teachers and students as indispensable factors in their work.However,with the rapid development of the Internet,the security of the network is also becoming more and more prominent,putting forward higher requirements for the construction of the campus network security system.Therefore,only by establishing a safe and effective campus network security system can we ensure the smooth progress of all work.Campus network security requirements have its own particularity,in addition to the traditional sense of information security,that is,filtering of bad information,but also should improve the security of viruses,malicious attacks and physical devices.Intrusion detection technology has now become a hot issue in network security technology.Its application prospect is very broad.Its application has changed the situation of passive defense of network security in the past,and has turned to take the initiative to detect the direction of protection.At present,all kinds of network intrusion attacks emerge in an endless stream.In the past,the security protection mode mainly based on firewall technology has been difficult to adapt to the requirements of network security in modern colleges and universities,and the firewall technology is hard to find within the network.At this clock,the use of intrusion detection technology to solve network intrusion and attack behavior has become an inevitable trend.Can be said that intrusion detection technology is an effective complement to and expansion of firewall technology,it can enhance the system administrator's network security management capabilities.Intrusion detection systems currently on the market more,Snort is a better,lightweight intrusion detection system.This paper analyzes the current campus network security threats,as well as the campus network security related factors,at the same time to ensure the network security of the key technologies are analyzed and studied;described the commonly used campus network design principles and related network security protocols,Builds a security system model suitable for campus network protection;discusses the function,constitution,classification and common intrusion detection technology of intrusion detection system in detail;expatiates the basic process of data mining and data mining method,Based on the detection system,analyzes the shortcomings of Snort system in the application;and improves the performance of Snort intrusion detection system by using data mining technology to improve Snort intrusion detection system.
