Dunhuang version of Filial Piety is an important part of Dunhuang Confucius literature.It comprises non-annotated text of Filial Piety,notes and commentaries of Filial Piety as well as auxiliary materials for it.The volumes keep part of Filial Piety noted by Zheng,and it has high value in literature.Addionally,these volumes includes other relevant literature of Filial Piety,which is of great significance to research of history,education,and social custom.As for Filial Piety,researches on Dunhuang version and the handed down version complement each other for that none could exist effective without the other.Xiaojing dated from the transmitted version of Filial Piety at the beginning is closely linked with the earlier version.All the Dunhuang version of Filial Piety now are transcripts which was written by the ancient people.These people wrote according to block-printed books and hand-copied books with each other,so the transcribing quality of the transcripts is uneven.There are missing parts of transcripts because of antiquity and improper preservation.There has the whole transcriptions and emendations for 42 shares Filial Piety though,the emendations limit only to non-annotated text of Filial Piety and Ruan copy.For that problems as improper selection of master copy and incomplete emendations arise,now in accordance with requirements for a master copy that have high literature value are chosen from Dunhuang version P.3698 as reference copies,and at the same time,a couple of handed down Filial Piety versions are added as reference copies to re-emend.Besides,among the copies of Dunhuang version of Filial Piety,Zheng annotated copy was preserved relatively complete except that some pages were broken or missing.In this case,Yan Kejun's edition Dunhuang version P.3428+2674 of Filial Piety Zheng Annotated is selected as a master copy,and togehter with to further realize the completeness of Filial Piety Zheng Annotated and complete emending excursus of it.On top of that,the transmission of literature on Dunhuang version of Filial Piety in Dunhuang district should also be deemed as a distinctive perspective for studying the development of literature on Dunhuang version of Filial Piety.With the rich literature content of Dunhuang version of Filial Piety,it is one of the main school textbooks in Dunhuang district.All the encouragement and supports from government,and exploratory efforts of scholars and intellectuals,plus the excellent educations of local schools make it popularized and thrived throughout Dunhuang district to present a unique cultural appearance of ancient Dunhuang.
