Research purposes: This study explores the impact of martial arts education on the behavioral norms of first grade students through a combination of questionnaires and intervention experiments, and provides a reference for the role of martial arts education in the cultivation and promotion of junior high school students’ behavioral norms.Objects and methods: Taking the first-year students in the early stage of adolescence as the object,240 students aged 12-13 were selected in this study in the first junior middle school of Xuehu Town,Yongcheng City,Henan Province.Based on the natural teaching class, the students are divided into an experimental group and a control group. The students in the experimental group(n= 118)receive martial arts education, and the students in the control group(n= 122)accept the martial arts syllabus in the first grade of the school.Educational activities other than martial arts sports. The two groups of subjects arranged two 45-minute courses per week for a total of 16 weeks of intervention. After the intervention, the differences between the scores of the self-assessment and other-assessment behaviors of the two groups of students were investigated.Research results:(1)Before the experimental intervention, there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group students in the five dimensions of behavioral norms(p > 0.05).After 16 weeks of corresponding course intervention, the overall score of the self-assessment behavior norms of the experimental group students and the scores of the five dimensions were significantly improved(p < 0.05);the students of the control group only complied with the rules and regulations in the third dimension. The scores of "Diligent Study"(p < 0.05)and Dimension 4 "Industrious and frugal, honoring parents"(p < 0.001)have been significantly improved, and the effect size is relatively small.(2)The difference between the post-test of the experimental group and the post-test of the control group found that the post-test of the experimental group and the post-test of the control group had a significant difference in the total scores of self-assessment codes of conduct(p < 0.001),and the total score of the martial arts education group was significantly higher The total score of the non-martial arts education group.Further analysis shows that the martial arts education group scores in five dimensionsare significantly higher than the non-martial arts education group scores in five dimensions.(3)In the intervention teaching phase, the number of standardized behaviors of the experimental group showed an upward trend overall, and with the increase of the intervention period, the experimental group exhibited corresponding normative behaviors in various dimensions more than the control group.(4)In the dimension of "industrious, frugal, and honoring parents",the interaction between gender and group is significant(p < 0.05).A simple effect analysis shows that, compared with other forms of physical education, martial arts education has a greater impact on girls’ behavior in the dimension of “industrious, frugal and respectful of parents”.Research conclusions:(1)Wushu education can significantly improve the junior high school students’ code of conduct.(2)Compared with non-martial arts education, martial arts education has a better normative effect on the behavior of junior high school students, and as the intervention cycle increases, the number of junior high school students exhibiting corresponding normative behaviors in five dimensions has gradually increased.(3)Whether it is martial arts education or other sports events, educational activities have a more normative effect on girls’ behavior;but specific to the dimension of “ industrious and frugal, respecting parents ”,compared with non-martial arts education, martial arts education has a norm for girls’ behavior The impact is greater.
