In this study, the data from the baseline survey of the 2013-2014 academic year and the follow-up survey of the 2014-2015 academic year in CEPS were used, and the relevant research results were obtained through the analysis of the descriptive statistical analysis method and the generalized propensity score matching method, and the teaching suggestions were proposed based on the research results. This study firstly analyzed the use of teaching methods and teaching media by eighth-grade math teachers in China, and the results showed that,in terms of the use of teaching methods,eighth-grade math teachers in China use "teacher-taught" and "teacher-student interaction and discussion" to teach with very high frequency, and eighth-grade math teachers in China use "group discussion" to teach with high frequency. But in general,"teacher-taught" is the most frequently used in eighth-grade math classes in China, followed by "teacher-student interaction and discussion" and then "group discussion".In terms of the use of teaching media,on the whole,Chinese eighth-grade mathematics teachers often use "multimedia projection equipment" for teaching. However, the frequency of "Internet" and "wall charts, models and posters" used by eighth-grade math teachers in China is low.Meanwhile, the frequency of "personal teaching websites, blogs and micro-blogs" used by eighth-grade math teachers in China is very low.Secondly, the generalized propensity score matching method(GPSM)was used to analyze the influence of teachers' teaching methods and teaching media on the scores of the students' cognitive ability test. The results show that: in terms of the influence of the use of teaching methods on the scores of the students' cognitive ability test, when the frequency of "teacher-taught" used by math teachers is high, the scores of the students' cognitive ability test will be high, but when the frequency of "teacher-taught" used by math teachers reaches a certain degree, the increase of the frequency of "teacher-taught" used by math teachers will not make the students' performance improve. When the frequency of "group discussion" used by math teachers is low,as the frequency of "group discussion" used by math teachers increases, the scores of the students' cognitive ability test will increase;but when the frequency of "group discussion" used by math teachers is high,as the frequency of "group discussion" used by math teachers increases, the scores of the students' cognitive ability test will decrease. In other words, the frequency of "group discussion" used by mathematics teachers is kept at the appropriate level, that is,"often",which is most beneficial to the cognitive development of students. When the frequency of "teacher-student interaction and discussion" used by math teachers is high, the scores of the students' cognitive ability test will not increase with the increase of the frequency. In terms of the influence of the use of teaching media on the scores of the students' cognitive ability test, with the increase of the frequency of teaching with "multimedia projection equipment",the scores of the students' cognitive ability test will also increase. When mathematics teachers never use "Internet" for teaching, the students' scores on the cognitive ability test are the highest, and the differences between other frequency of use are not large and significant. This is not consistent with the expectation of this study, which speculates that this may be related to the fact that mathematics teachers do not always teach contents related to the teaching content when using the Internet for teaching, and that the Internet usage level and Internet teaching ability of many mathematics teachers are not high. When mathematics teachers never use "wall charts, models and posters" for teaching, the scores of the students' cognitive ability test are the highest, and with the increase in the frequency, the scores of the students' cognitive ability test show a downward trend. When mathematics teachers use "personal teaching websites, blogs and microblogs" for teaching, the frequency should be moderate, that is,sometimes, because it is best for students' cognitive ability.According to this, the following suggestions are put forward: in terms of teaching methods, the frequency of teachers' teaching should be kept at a high level, but there is no need to pursue a high level. However, math teachers should keep the frequency of teaching with group discussion at an appropriate level. In terms of teaching media, mathematics teachers should try to use multimedia projection equipment for teaching, but try to use wall chart?model and posters for teaching,at the same time, when mathematics teachers use personal teaching website or blog or microblog for teaching, the frequency should be moderate. In addition, when mathematics teachers use the Internet to teach in class, they should teach content related to the teaching content, and improve their own level of Internet use and Internet teaching ability.
