The ADI(Argument-Driven Inquiry)is a teaching model that combines scientific argumentation with experimental inquiry, which enables students to go deep into the problem, and has experienced a process similar to scientists' inquiry and argumentation of a problem. In the ADI activity, the teacher puts forward a question of this inquiry.Under the guidance of teachers, students complete 8 stages of ADI activities. They make a claim on the research issue and fully demonstrate it.By analyzing ADI teaching materials and teaching tools, this paper compares ADI teaching model with traditional experimental teaching, and studies the necessity and feasibility of introducing ADI teaching model into high school physics experiment teaching through questionnaires, interviews and ability tests of scientific argumentation.Five ADI teaching strategies including "students as the main body of activity","flexible adjustment of activity steps","peer-to-peer learning","multiple perspective construction of demonstration",and "teachers' full guidance" were proposed, and the ADI teaching model was used for teaching design and practice. The results show that the physical science argumentation ability of high school students in China is low,the nature of scientific inquiry in traditional experimental teaching is not well demonstrated, and the cultivation of scientific demonstration ability is ignored. Therefore, the reform of traditional experimental teaching is urgent. The ADI teaching model conforms to core competence of physic discipline, and can reform and innovate the physics experiment teaching model to make up for the deficiencies of the current physics experiment teaching in China.Teachers can refer to the teaching strategies proposed in this article when implementing ADI activities, and the paper selects the physical experiments of the high school physics compulsory textbooks that can be used as ADI activities, and puts forward ADI teaching suggestions for the reference of physic teachers.
