With the further advance of curriculum reform,the concept of core literacy of the history subject has been gradually integrated into the current history teaching of junior middle school and become a common concern of the history education and teaching circle.The concept of time and space highlights the core literacy of the history subject from the two aspects of foundation and essence,while time and space have become the basic starting point for understanding history.Historical space carries the occurrence and evolution process of historical events,which is an important dimension of understanding history.It is a necessary character and ability for students to learn history to analyze history with the concept of historical space,clarify the relationship between historical figures,events and phenomena and master the uniformity,integrity and diversity of historical changes.The traditional history teaching in junior middle school pays attention to the historical sequence but neglects the basic function of historic space.Thus,the phenomena of “faulting” and “fragmentation” have appeared in students' understanding of history,which makes it difficult for them to grasp history clearly and comprehensively and hinders the development of their historical thinking ability.Based on the current teaching practice of history classroom in junior middle school,this paper takes the solution of practical problems in history teaching of junior middle school as the starting point and combines with a series of case teaching to explore the effective ways to cultivate the history space concept of junior middle school students and put forward feasible strategies on the basis of conforming to the cognitive rules of junior middle school students,mainly including clarifying the classification of historical space,developing ideal materials;making the best of the map and illustrations,helping students form an intuitive spatial impression;creating theme activities,enhancing their spacial cognition ability;visiting historic sites and feeling the continuity and change of historic space etc.,so as to provide beneficial reference on teaching methods for the cultivation of students' space concept in the history teaching of junior middle school.
