The junior secondary education is a part of compulsory education, and the juniorsecondary school history education pays more attention to develop students’humanities caring and practical ability under the new curriculum reform. Historicalspace concept is very important for learning and teaching, and I try to study it in thispaper, combined with new curriculum ideas.The article is divided into three parts, the introduction, body and conclusion. Inthe first part, I study the importance of developing the students’ history space conceptin junior secondary school and define the historical space concept. Body is the mainpart of this article, including the necessity ways and points for attention. Thehistorical space concept is requirement of the history education standard, but also theneed of history itself and test. There are many ways to develop the students’ historicalspace concept, you must make full use of history textbooks, maps, illustrations andhistory plays. The multimedia technology is also a way to develop the students’historical space concept. The Ministry of Education should encourage all efforts toenable middle school students to attend some on-the-spot investigations under the bestpossible conditions. Of course, it is necessary to lead students to recognize the natureof Environmental Determinism in teaching process.
