Preparation for school can refer to the special preparations made by kindergarten children to adapt to the study life of primary school,including social and learning adaptation,or refer to the level of comprehensive physical and mental development children need to reach before entering primary school,including healthy body,normal development of intelligence,good sociality and behavior habits.Good preparation for school allows the children to embrace the challenges in the upcoming primary life with more capability and confidence.At present,some kindergarten classes have a tendency of “primary schooling”,and the “transition class from kindergarten to primary school” offered by social education institutions also allows children to feel the burden of going to primary school in advance.As a result,the research in the scientific and reasonable entrance preparation education is urgently needed.The kindergarten’s one-day activities contain various opportunities for school preparation education,such as planting and feeding activities,life experience activities,project learning activities and duty activities.As an example,the kindergarten’s duty activities are part of the children’s collective life.The carefully-organized duty activities can play a positive role in enhancing the sense of task awareness,independence and sense of responsibility for collective service.However,the researchers found that there are many problems involving the teachers paying not much attention to the duty of the senior class,the nursery staff taking care of all the daily stuff,the activities requiring not many responsibilities.If we focus on duty activities and enrich the content and forms of duty activities from the perspective of school preparation,perhaps children’s ability to prepare for school will be improved.The study adopts an action research paradigm,selecting 30 children in Class B,Kindergarten A,Q City and conducted a three-month "New Duty Group" activity.It has gone through three successive stages: teacher-driven,teacher-assisted and children’s autonomy.The children had a rich experience in preparing for school in the quality "New Duty Group" activityThrough three months of action research,the following research conclusions are drawn: First,the "New Duty Group" is conducive to children’s ability to prepare for school,including the ability in planning,language expression,pre-writing,cooperation,responsibility awareness,and task awareness.There is significant improvement compared to the control class.Second,teachers’ continuous support strategy for the "New Duty Group" is the key to preparatory education.These teacher support strategies include:supporting duty selection and paying attention to duty responsibility;observing individual performance and sharing methods throughout the class;satisfying performance needs and helping to organize expression;giving choice rights and cultivating rule awareness;encouraging group cooperation to complete duty together;participate in group reflection and evaluate the effect of the activity.All these have a positive role in promoting children’s ability to prepare for school.Finally,the study also puts forward the following educational suggestions: clarify the main body of responsibility for entrance preparation education;ensure the starting point of life for entrance preparation education;adhere to the normal path of entrance preparation education. |
