| Traditional festivals are an important part of the traditional Chinese culture and also be the characteristic display of national cultural values and moral concepts.Educating traditional festival in kindergarten is an important way to inherit the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.Children learn traditional festival in kindergarten not only can carry forward and inherit our excellent traditional culture,but also cultivate children’s patriotic feelings and promote their all-round development.This study selects three traditional festivals: Spring Festival,Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival,and makes a qualitative research on 36 large-class children in a kindergarten in Qingdao by using the methods of literature,interview and observation,which mainly including “children’s understanding of traditional festivals” and“children’s experience of traditional festivals”.On the basis of the research results and analysis,this study draws the following conclusions:1.Six-years old children have vague and uncertain conceptual cognition of traditional festivals.Their cognition is extensive and open.Six-years old children tend to define traditional festivals from specific traditional festivals and festival activities,and also can explain according to their own intuitive experience.2.The cognition of the six-years old children’s time of traditional festivals is better reflected in their cognition of season.six-years old children can feel and understand the attributes of seasons.The experience of festival activities also affects children’s cognition of traditional time to a certain extent.Different festivals have different cognition of time.3.Six-years old children ’s understanding of the customs of traditional festivals presents a consistent and single characteristic,which is mainly manifested in the fact that the catering activities are the festivals that children know well and most want to experience,Sacrifice activities and other celebration activities are seldom involved.Six-years old children have synchronicity in the cognition and experience of festival customs.4.Six-years old children mainly grasp the meaning of traditional festivals from their personal values,which are embodied in spiritual values and emotional values.For example,they can reunite with their families,play with their partners,have holidays,eat delicious food and so on.They know little about social values.5.Six-years old children have a high festival experience of traditional festivals,which is mainly reflected in the high consistency between ideal and actual festival activities.Six-years old children like to spend traditional festivals at home with theirfamilies,which also reflects that early childhood education needs the joint support of family members and teachers.After that,based on the research results,the researchers looked for the factors that affect children’s cognition and experience of traditional festivals from their explanations,which including teachers and parents.Researchers analyze and expound its positive and negative effects respectively.In view of the above factors,the researchers from“strengthening teachers’ professional training,providing high-quality teaching for young children”,“enriching the contents of festival education activities,providing rich festival customs for young children”,“develop and consolidate the cooperative relationship between their homes,and to increase the importance and participation of parents in holiday education”,“respect the dominant role of child and organize traditional festival activities in six year-old children’s hearts” four aspects put forward relevant education suggestions,and made research reflection. |
