Discussion On The Plight Of Social Work Involved In Community Service

With the development of society and the intensification of social transformation,community service centers,as an important carrier of providing community services,play a more significant role.In the past,community public affairs were uniformly managed by neighborhood committees.However,there were many drawbacks in the process of management.Neighborhood committees were responsible for too many affairs and had too much workload to pay attention to.In order to make the community construction more humane and professional,and properly take into account the needs of each group in the community,the government introduced social work into the community.The relationship between the government and social workers is complicated.From the perspective of the theory of large state-society relations,neither Hegel's idea of "the state optimizes the society" nor Locke's idea of "the society is superior to the state" can be fully realized in China due to the special national conditions.Therefore,over the past decade,the mode of "government purchasing services" has become a hot topic in domestic academic circles.Taking M community in zhengzhou city as an example,this paper analyzes the actual situation of social work's involvement in M community service under the premise of government purchase of services from the perspective of an observer.According to the different needs of community residents,social workers adopt team,individual cases and community work methods in the intervention and achieve good results.However,because social workers can only rely on the government as the main source of funds,the channels are too single;The social workers are young and lack of practical experience.Community residents' low sense of community integration and social workers' disapproval lead to the following problems in the operation of the project: first,the project is short of funds,the expense reimbursement period of activities is long,and the placement of social workers.Secondly,lack of practical experience and talents in social work;Thirdly,some community residents are not very cooperative with social workers and lack of enthusiasm to participate in community public affairs.Fourth,social workers and the government lack of communication,tension.In view of these problems,the author puts forward the following countermeasures after analyzing the causes: first,the government should encourage the development of social work institutions in various aspects,encourage them to generate income independently,and transform from the "unification" of financing channels to "diversification";Second,social workers should strive to learn professional knowledge of social work,enhance their own strength and improve their social status;Third,enhance residents' sense of community integration,improve the enthusiasm to participate in community public affairs;Fourth,the identity of social workers should be strengthened,the role of social workers should be defined,and harmony and co-governance should be achieved.
