Critical thinking is not only an essential quality for innovative talents,but also the basic abilities that modern citizens should have.The junior high school stage is a crucial period for cultivating students' critical thinking.The characteristics of history disciplines have greatly contributed to the cultivation of critical thinking.It is especially important to conduct research and practice on critical thinking in junior high school history teaching.Both critical thinking and historical thinking have critical and reflective value orientations,similar argumentation processes,and behavioral outcomes,but they differ in terms of the timing of thinking,the basis of thinking,the scope of application,and the reflective nature.Relying on the historical subject to conduct field research,and based on the results of the questionnaire survey,it analyzes the problems that the critical thinking training is generally missing in all aspects of history teaching,mainly the low degree of emphasis,the teaching environment is too serious,the teaching content only focuses on textbook knowledge,and the teaching methods are not enough flexible and effective.Taking the new textbook of the history of the department as an example,this paper proposes a method of cultivating critical thinking in the history teaching of junior high school,focusing on effectively improving the teaching ability and practice level of critical thinking in junior high school history teaching,mainly to create a critical thinking teaching environment,create new problem situations,attach importance to historical materials teaching,use dialogue teaching methods and establish appropriate critical thinking teaching evaluation system,in order to provide useful reference for improving students' thinking quality in junior high school history teaching.
