There was a time when our country was in a mode of extensive economic development.Although the economy has made progress,it has also caused damage to the ecological environment and is facing severe ecological crisis.Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the Party has attached great importance to the management of ecological problems.Therefore,the report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized the importance of strengthening the construction of ecological civilization,and pointed out that education of ecological civilization is an important measure to promote the construction of ecological civilization.As middle school students are future successors and builders of the country,and primary object of education,it's of edging urgency to carry out ecological civilization education for them.Secondary school ecological civilization education needs to carry out the Party's relevant theories and policies on the protection of the ecological environment into teaching,so as to bring the concept of ecological environment protection into the classroom and into the mind.In order to achieve this goal,the key is to find an effective teaching method.This paper takes "the combination of knowledge and practice" as the theme of ecological civilization education,we strive to achieve the teaching goal by making students achieve the "combining knowledge with practice" in teaching.This paper is divided into four parts: the first part is the introduction,elaborating the background,purpose and significance of the study,the research status at home and abroad,and its ideas and methods.The second part is a description of ecological civilization education combining knowledge with practice,and its necessity in middle schools.It mainly clarifies the concept of the education and the requirements for it at the present stage,so as to apply the concept as an educational method into the current education of ecological civilization,which is conducive to breaking limitations in education.The third part is about the main manifestations and their causes in middle school students' ecological activities at the present stage.Questionnaires are carried out in three selected middle schools,and discussions are made upon issues and problems emerged from middle school students' ecological activities.Middle school students' ecological consciousness and ecological behavior are not consistent in real life.The reasons for this phenomenon are analyzed from the educational level.Viewing from the schools,their teaching objectives over-stressed the importance of enrolment rate,which hampered students' mental and physical development.For the teacher's part,point of view,their ability in ecological civilization education is relatively low.Schools and teachers lack understanding of the issue,and focus solely on classroom teaching,hence extra-curricular practical activities are rare,so as professional trainings on teacher's skills in ecological civilization education.And for education funds,current input is far from sufficient,resulting in a lack of construction of educational practice bases,which makes it difficult to integrate the studies with practice.Students lack the practice of ecological civilization educational.The fourth part aims to improve the mode of ecological civilization education and solve existing problems.Using the method of "combining knowledge with practice",we proceed in aspects of classroom teaching,campus culture,social practice activities,carry out the policy of "grasping on both sides at the same time" in education practices,combining the teaching of relevant knowledge with practice,externalizing theoretical knowledge into practical action,and truly achieving the combining knowledge and Practice.
