Public Space And The Construction Of Rural Social Order

The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China first proposed the strategy of rural revitalization.Agriculture,peasants and rural issues are regarded as the fundamental issues of national economy and people's livelihood.In addition,the solution of the "three rural" issues is always the top priority of the Party's work.The rural public space is closely related to the life of the villagers.It is an important place for villagers to exchange information,form authority,and enhance the sense of identity,which plays an important role in the stability of the rural order.The weakness of the public space has broken the bond that maintains the original rural social relationship,resulting in the dispersion of value norms and the weakening of the villagers' concerted action,and exerted a strong impact on the social connection and the construction of the rural community.Taking a traditional village in the rural areas of northern China as an example,this paper,taking the public space evolution of the village as the starting point and the interaction between the villagers and the new order of the village society as the main line,analyses the evolution characteristics and influencing factors of public space in different stages and finally points out the path of reconstructing rural public space.The study found that the evolution of public space in P village has different backgrounds and characteristics of the times.Since the founding of New China,the rural public space has experienced great changes:from the collapse of traditional public space based on clan to the rise of formal public space based on administrative power,and then to the general shrinkage of the rural public space after the administrative withdrawal.Marketization,social mobility and land reform are the boosters of rural public space evolution,which have an important impact on the reshaping of rural social public space and the formation of rural order.In view of the problems in the public space of P village,this paper proposes four solutions:the core of reshaping public space is to build publicity;the construction of public space should cultivate rural public culture;the construction of public space should focus on the development of rural organization;to revive public space should fully employ modern network technology.
