High School Group Counsels School-based Curriculum Development

In the process of comprehensively promoting quality education in our country,various forms of mental health education have been widely carried out in primary and secondary schools.High school students are in an important period of the formation of values,outlook on life and world outlook.The semi-naive and semi-mature characteristics are obvious.Their intellectual development is close to maturity,and the emotional content is increasingly deep and stable,but the emotional performance is closed.How to carry out effective mental health education for the psychological development level of high school students is a common concern of the government and the education sector.Group counseling is a form of psychological counseling conducted in a group situation.Through group interaction,individuals are allowed to observe,learn,experience,learn new attitudes and behaviors in interaction,and gain growth.Effective group counseling can not only solve common developmental problems,but also prevent the formation of personality problems,and effectively promote the development of students' mental health.The purpose of this study is to develop high school group counseling school-based curriculum based on the characteristics of high school students' psychological development and the actual situation of the school,in order to explore the effective form of mental health education in high school.This research mainly includes three stages of school-based research,programming and implementation and evaluation of the program.In the stage of school-based research,the interview method is used to investigate the development of mental health education in Zhangjiakou No.4 Middle School.The questionnaire survey method is used to investigate the mental health status of the students.Randomly selecting three classes in first grade,five classes in second grade and three classes in the third grade to distribute the psychology of middle school students scale,statistical analysis of the collected data.In the stage of programming,through the investigation of the school's and student's situation,based on the group dynamics and school-based curriculum development of environmental model,and guided by the "Guidelines for Mental Health Education in Primary and Secondary Schools(2012 Revision)",forming the group counseling school-based curriculum,which is focus on self-awareness,learning ability,stress resistance,interpersonal relationship and career planning.The self-conscious theme consists of five lessons,the content of the course revolves understanding yourself from different angles,facing your own values,and meeting the best self.The content of the learning ability theme is mainly about experience concentration,time management,different preparation methods and mind mapping.There are four lessons.The topic of interpersonal relationship starts from how to be a popular person,dealing with peer relationship,heterosexual relationship and parent-child relationship.There are five lessons in total.The main content of the stress resistance theme is four lessons,so that students can correctly understand test anxiety and master the method of relaxation.The theme of career planning is to understand the career form,conduct professional experience and make career choices,a total of four lessons.In terms of curriculum objectives,the goal of group counseling is not only the education of mental health knowledge,but also the discovery of problems,the promotion of development,the exploitation of potential and prevention.In the stage of implementation and evaluation of the program,selecting two homogeneous classes in the second grade as experimental and control classes,the developed curriculum is implemented in the experimental class,and the control class is not implemented,then measuring the five themes of the two classes before and after the experiment,compare the date that measured before and after the test.The results show the experimental class has significantly improved in self-awareness,learning ability,stress resistance,interpersonal relationship and career planning,and there has been no significant change in the control class.After the implementation of the course,the interview method is used to comprehensively evaluate the course itself and evaluate the course implementation process to optimize the group counseling school-based curriculum.Conclusion: Through the implementation and evaluation of the developed curriculum,the result shows that the high school group counseling school-based curriculum developed in Zhangjiakou No.4 Middle School is effective,which can effectively improve the mental health of high school students.
