The purpose of the new curriculum reform is to construct a basic education curriculum system which meets the requirements of quality education in the 21 st century. In recent years,a great variety of teaching methods have emerged. How to select the most suitable teaching methods for the existing courses has become a key problem in teaching. At the same time, this also requires teachers to let students acquire more knowledge in the limited classroom, and how to solve the problem of classroom utilization efficiency. As the national ball of our country, the mass base and sports foundation of table tennis is very extensive.Due to the simple and easy preparation of the venue and facilities, table tennis is popular in primary and middle schools and colleges and universities. At present, more and more new teaching methods have been applied to the classroom, and good results have been obtained. In this paper, heterogeneous grouping teaching method is chosen to intervene in table tennis teaching. At present, heterogeneous grouping teaching method is mainly used in group projects such as basketball and volleyball, but there are still less cases in table tennis. Thus this paper will carry out experimental research on this aspect. This experiment adopts the methods of literature, questionnaire investigation, teaching experiment, mathematical statistics and so on.The students of the 2017 table tennis elective class of Qufu Normal University are selected to carry out the 18-week teaching comparison experiment. Then the experimental class adopts heterogeneous grouping teaching method while the control class uses the traditional teaching method.Questionnaires for the basic level of table tennis were distributed to the experimental and control class. The physical quality, technical level and psychological indicators of the two classes were tested before and after the experiment.Through the comparative analysis of the data before and after the experiment, the conclusions are as follows:(1)In the aspects of students' physical quality,in can be seen from the experimental data that the overall improvement level of the experimental class is higher than that of the control class, and the physical quality of students has a trend of gradual improvement. Thus, the heterogeneous grouping teaching method is beneficial to the enhancement of the students' physical quality.(2)In terms of the technical level of table tennis, both kinds of teaching methods are conducive to the improvement of students' level, but the level of table tennis skills in the experimental class is improved more. This shows that heterogeneous grouping teaching method can make students learn more efficiently in the limited classroom, and can improve students' table tennis skills.(3)In the course of learning attitude,it can be seen that the experiment class has a lot more positive in the attitude of study than before the experiment, and the students in the control class have a lower phenomenon.Explain that heterogeneous grouping teaching method is beneficial to correct students' attitude towards learning.(4)In terms of interest in learning, the interest of both classes has improved. From the data point of view, the experimental class students are more interested in learning, indicating that the heterogeneous grouping teaching method is conductive to improve students' interest in learning.(5)In the aspect of group cohesion,it can be seen that the two classes of group cohesion have been improved compared with those before the experiment, and the group cohesion of the experimental class has been significantly improved after the experiment. This shows that heterogeneous grouping teaching is beneficial to enhance students' physical cohesion.
