Illustration is the embodiment of language,the second language of expression in textbooks,and an important part of Chinese teaching resources.According to the psychological development characteristics of lower grade students,illustrations are of great significance in stimulating students’ interest in learning and promoting their happy learning.If teachers take illustration as the breakthrough point in teaching and effectively pave the way of visualization,interest and life of Chinese teaching in lower grades,it will be of great benefit to the improvement of students’ Chinese core literacy.The text is divided into five parts,which focus on the illustration and use of the textbook.The introduction mainly discusses the purpose and significance of the research from two aspects of theory and practice,reviews relevant research literature at home and abroad,clarifies the research ideas and methods,and the main content and innovation points of the research.The first chapter probes into the use value,selection basis and arrangement principle of illustrations in textbooks of lower grades of Chinese in primary schools.The second chapter is an investigation and analysis of the illustrations in the textbooks for the lower grades of primary school Chinese,which mainly includes three aspects.The first is to classify illustrations from four aspects:arrangement structure,expression form,presentation content and organization form.The second is to analyze and summarize the features of the illustrations.The third part is the experience of the compilation and development of the illustrations.The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the use and reasons of illustrations in the textbooks compiled by the department.This paper takes the teachers and students of grade one and grade two in 15 primary schools in Jiangsu Province as the investigation objects,and adopts the questionnaire survey method and classroom observation method to carry out the investigation and research.Combined with objective data and classroom observation to understand the use of illustrations compiled by teachers and students,and analyze the current situation and existing problems in the use of illustrations compiled by the department.The use and existing problems mainly include:teachers have a clear understanding of the status and function of illustrations,but pay insufficient attention to the construction of illustration resources;Teachers tend to use illustrations for knowledge-based teaching purposes;The teacher uses the illustration teaching ability to be deficient;Teachers ignore the teaching reflection of using illustrations.The students hold a positive attitude towards the illustrations in part I,but lack a scientific understanding.Students pay more attention to the illustrations in the book,but seldom use them to study.Students’ ability to read pictures is weak and the effect of using illustrations is not good.The reasons for the problems in the use of illustrations in the part edition are:the confrontation between the old and new teaching ideas of teachers,the limitation of their own professional ability,and the neglect of illustrations in lesson preparation;The absence of students’ image thinking consciousness,the difference of students’ability to read pictures and the law of cognitive development;The primary school Chinese teacher training is not in place,Chinese teaching evaluation content is not comprehensive,and the degree of attention to cooperate with parents is not enough.The fourth chapter puts forward the strategies of optimizing illustration teaching in the lower grades of primary school Chinese from three dimensions:teacher,student and school.The teacher should set up the illustration teaching idea consciously and promote the illustration teaching according to the time and the lesson;Adhering to the diversified illustration teaching methods,promote the diversification of illustration teaching;Focusing on illustration teaching research,developing and utilizing illustration teaching resources.Under the guidance of teachers,students should use illustrations skillfully and set up image thinking consciousness.Make good use of illustrations to cultivate self-reading ability;Draw illustrations to promote a deeper understanding of the text.Schools should create an illustration research atmosphere and improve illustration teaching and training.Improve the content of teaching evaluation and optimize the detailed rules of illustration evaluation;Keep close contact with students’ parents and carry out parent-child reading activities.Based on the department make a primary school Chinese junior textbook illustrations and its use as a research focus,through revealing of primary school Chinese junior textbook illustrations use present situation and the causes of the problem,put forward the strategies of the optimization of primary school Chinese junior illustration teaching,looking forward to illustrations to become teachers spread knowledge’s right-hand man,become a springboard for students to acquire knowledge,become a language lesson class "delicacies",finally promote the reform and development of junior Chinese teaching.
