Research On Population Issues In Russia's Economic Development

The population problem in Russia directly affects economic development,national competitiveness,national welfare and social stability.From this point of view,taking long-term population policy measures will help the economic development in Russia.At present,the population problem is one of the most pressing issues in the world.The reasons for the decline in population have threatened the future development of the country.In addition,the problem of demographic structure can also lead to poor social structure and affect social development.Based on the theory of economy and population,this paper sorts out the history and current situation of Russia’s economic development,researches the relationship between the total population change of the Russian Federation and the growth of Russia’s GDP,and the structural trend forecast of the Russian working-age population.The article considers that the problem of reduction of the number of Russian population is one of the main reasons that leads to the slowdown of economic growth year by year.The population problems are mainly manifested in: low birth rate,high mortality rate,marriageable population financial situation,aging,insufficient medical investment,and geographical imbalance.Denton F.T.and Spencer B.G.mathematical model shows that the number of working-age population in Russia is gradually decreasing,and the number of working-age population is expected to decrease from 90779 to 82454 thousand in 2017-2035.The number of working-age people is decreasing and there are many adverse effects on economic growth.Through the analysis of the relationship between the total population change of the Russian Federation and the growth of Russia’s GDP,it is concluded that the reduction in the number of working-age population among all factors has the greatest impact on Russia’s economic growth.In this case,it is necessary to develop a relevant population policy that guarantees population growth rates.In recent years,although the total population of Russia is growing slowly,the demographic trend is not optimistic.Under the influence of the existing population policy,it is necessary to adjust and improve the population policy according to the population problems.Therefore,an in-depth analysis of the population problem in Russia’s economic development not only has a certain impact on the Russian economy,but also has important significance for the stable development of society.
