Autism spectrum disorder is a special and widespread developmental disorder.At present,due to the rapid increase in the incidence of autism spectrum disorders,the difficulty of early detection,and the uncertainty of intervention methods,it has become one of the issues of common focus in the psychology,education,and medical circles worldwide.Based on the social interaction barriers common to children with autism spectrum disorders,the current research focus is to intervene in effective interventions for children with autism spectrum disorders to improve their ability in social interaction and communication.The picture exchange communication system is a complete system that uses the form of stage training to enhance the emergence of communication behaviors of children with autism spectrum disorders and enhance their social interaction and social adaptation.In this study,a picture-based communication system is used to conduct intervention training for children with autism spectrum disorders,and to explore the intervention effect of the picture exchange communication system on their communication behavior.The study subjects are two children with autism spectrum disorders who are 16 years old.The intervention time is 6 weeks,three times a week,and 20 minutes at a time.The number of communication behaviors is recorded by the week.The recorded data is processed using visual analysis and C statistics to observe the effect of the intervention.The study find that the picture exchange communication system has an effect on the intervention of children with autism spectrum disorder.The communication behavior of children with autism spectrum disorder is significantly improved after intervention.In the process of intervention,the appropriate selection of reinforcements and communication pictures will improve.The effect of the imageexchange communication system implementation;through the qualitative observation before and after the intervention,it is found that the picture exchange communication system increased the ability of children with autism spectrum disorders to solve problems using appropriate communication behaviors.This study proposes the following recommendations for teaching applications:the use of scientific methods to guide the intervention of the picture exchange communication system;the creation of personalized communication of life-oriented communication pictures;the combination of intervention and special school curriculum.At the same time,parents are advised to learn to use the picture exchange communication system for community intervention in children with autism spectrum disorders.
