Children who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders have difficulty in communication.Accordingly,visual and picture-based strategies such as the Picture Exchange Communication System(PECS)show promise in ameliorating speech and language deficits,so as to promote their communication ability.This study uses a multiple baseline across situation(A-B-A-B),for 2 autistic children to implement picture exchange of communication system and verify the effects of initiative communication behavior for ASD.The object of study for 2 autistic children,aged between 10 to 11 years of age.before research,Interviewing the parents and teachers,and adopting the basic communication behavior of children with autism rating scale for children to evaluate the current communication situation.After the intervention,combining with the data analysis and interviewing with parents,teachers,a variety of methods to evaluate intervention effects.Use the WPS forms,visual analysis and C statistics software for data processing.Intervention time is may to November,the July and August for summer vacation time,a total of 14 weeks,three times a week,20 minutes at a time.In view of the existing research about the PECS,more research is to validate the effects of PECS as a substitute tool for non-verbal communication or low spoken autistic children,namely,the PECS to evaluate the effects of real-time communication.This research is not real-time assessment,but in the case of no pictures,recording initiative communication behavior of participants(communication form and frequency).Investigating PECS as an intervention method on the effects of two autistic children initiative communication behavior.Research conclusions are as follows:(1)Picture exchange communication system(PECS)training is effective for autistic children's initiative communication behavior.PECS training,for participant A,in a training class,the influence of initiative communication behavior is great;But in handicraft class,the influence of initiative communication behavior is initially changed,later changed little;For participant B,in a training class,and handicraft class,the influence of initiative communication behavior is very great.(2)Picture exchange communication system(PECS)training promote the autistic children initiative communication behavior,and promote the autistic children social communication.
