At present,there was still space for research on the assessment of high school students' biological ability from the perspective of discipline key competencies at home and abroad.There were few advanced evaluation examples that could be learned from the field of biology.Assessment of high school students' biological ability was the key to examine the achievement of students' key competencies in biology teaching.Therefore,PISA2015 assessment project was used as the study material in this study,combined with the key competencies of high school biology discipline,to screen evaluation index to design a scale to evaluate the biological ability of high school students.The reorganization to the advanced appraisal example was firstly carried on in this study.On this basis,biological ability evaluation indexes were extracted by literature reading,interviewed and questionnaired survey,followed by data analysis.The indicators were then screened and classified to determine the biological ability evaluation index.Through data analysis and questionnaired survey,each index was weighted and scored quantitatively and determined grading criteria.Finally,the scoring scale which would be able to evaluate the biological ability of high school students objectively was designed and compiled.And its reliability and validity were also tested.The evaluation and analysis results were fed back to frontline biology teachers in order to obtain their identification degree to provide an objective and operable evaluation tool for evaluating students' biological ability.In this study,the biological ability of some sophomore students of U middle school in dalian and V middle school in Liupanshui were evaluated using our evaluation scale.It was showed that both of the biology teachers in two schools had high recognition of the evaluation results.Some comclusions were draw through the research as followed:the biological ability level of students in both of dalian U middle school and liupanshui V middle school was general;the implementation of the new curriculum standards had played a certain role in promoting the cultivation of the biological ability of high school students in the two cities;the results of the assessment of students' biological ability were generally recognized by the biology teachers of the two schools.Some advice were given on biology teaching to the same problems that arise in the two schools after comparing the differences between the two middle schools and analyzing the causes of the differences :Cultivating hands-on ability and encourage experimental inquiry;Using media technology to show teaching difficulties;Strengthening the interaction between teachers and students to share and obtain information.In particular,the following suggestions were put forward for biology teaching of U middle school in Dalian:Contacting the real life and stimulating the interest in learning;Focusing on knowledge understanding and accurating express terms.While some other suggestions were put forward for biology teaching of V middle school in Liupanshui:Strengthening problem consciousness,guiding independent thinking;Constructing knowledge network,laying stress on deficiencies.
