The Quality Assessment in British Higher Education is a historical and typical assessment.Furthermore,the adoption of the Teaching Excellence Framework(herein referred to as TEF)brought forward a revolution in higher education quality and assessment.With the rapid development of Higher Education in China,the state pays more attention to the teaching quality of universities.From this point,the research on TEF will play a certain role in improving the teaching quality of Higher Education in China.From the viewpoint of policy research,this thesis is based on the following methods: Literature Review,Case Study and Comparative Research.It summarizes the internal and external motivation of TEF,the framework's core metrics and the whole procedure.During the process of analysis,the researcher took the results from the first round of teaching quality evaluations from TEF.Three British providers with different teaching quality levels were selected,namely,the University of Bath,Abington and Whitney College and the University of Westminster,which mainly aimed at the typical characteristics of different levels of "excellence".Based on the previous statement,the thesis comes to the conclusion that TEF balances well between whole nation and different counties;It also emphasizes on data collection and student-centered issues.Learning from the practical experience of TEF in the UK,this thesis provides three key points of advice to improve Teaching Quality Assessment in the Higher Education of our nation.These are adjusting the central standard to regional advantages,enhancing data control power and enlarging the student's engagement.
