A young child’s mother is the main child of a child,who plays an important role in the growth and education of young children.The birth of a child does not mean that the mother of a child has the knowledge of education and child rearing.Starting from the identity of the mother’s role,mothers of young children need to acquire the parenting knowledge of their own needs through various channels,so as to support themselves to better nurture their children.By combining quantitative research with qualitative research,this survey investigated the needs and sources of parenting knowledge of 3-6 year old children ’s mother.Firstly,the researchers used open questionnaires and semi-structured interviews,which collects as much as possible contents of parenting knowledge and access to parenting knowledge needed by young children’s mothers at this stage.Through the collation of the collected data,on the basis of the related literature of the predecessors,this paper has compiled a forecast questionnaire.Through the distribution of the forecast questionnaire and the data processing,the author revised the structure and items of the questionnaire and formed a formal questionnaire.Secondly,through the use of a formal questionnaire,this paper investigates the needs and sources of parenting knowledge of young children ’s mothers,and collate data.Thirdly,the author conducted an interview study on parenting knowledge and access to parenting knowledge for mothers of young children.The results of the survey were as follows:1.The young children’s mother has a higher knowledge needs for sociality,effective learning and potential development.2.The knowledge that is too strong is difficult to accept,and a summary of the actual experience of temperature is required.3.Children’s physical quality and sex affect the demand for nutrition and health knowledge of mothers.4.Mothers of young children’s needs for parenting knowledge is not affected by the main dependants of children and their educational background.5.The younger the children,the more mothers need to develop their knowledge of good habits in their lives.6.When the income of the family is different,young children’s mother’s need for education is different.7.In the dissemination of educational knowledge,the new media is the most popular,but it’s a double-edged sword.8.Kindergartens play an important role in the dissemination of educationalknowledge.9.In the dissemination of parenting knowledge,peer experience is favored and parents’ experience is hindered.10.In the dissemination of educational knowledge,the role of community education and books is waiting for development.Finally,in view of the results of the investigation,the author discussed three aspects of the dual influence of traditional culture and social reality,young children ’s mothers’ needs for parenting knowledge varied from different backgrounds,and the tendency to pursue interest and formalization of the way of dissemination of existing parenting knowledge,which reflected from the needs of mothers of young children on parenting knowledge,and the author puts forward the corresponding countermeasures from four aspects:state,kindergarten,community and child parent.
