A Study Of Discourse Expression And Community Mobilization In The "Emperor Bar" Incident

Since the beginning of 2016,Chinese netizens have raised protests and boycotts under the framework of nationalism over disputes over the South China Sea,issues of “Taiwan independence”,THAAD and Hong Kong independence,among which the "imperial bar's trip to Facebook" has attracted the most attention.This subcultural youth group,seemingly far away from politics and resisting the mainstream,held high the banner of patriotism on the Internet and took collective action to "crack down on Taiwan independence." To maintain unity ",all this refreshes the common people,scholars and cultural elite for their inherent impression,but also for the society to bring new thinking.Starting from the formation and changes of the imperial bar and combing its history and internal and external factors,this paper finds that in this pluralistic and loose post-modern space,fans of the imperial bar through their banter of Li Yi to the dark irony of various social events.Self-evolution into a set of their own post discourse culture.They label and position themselves with the derided name of loser,and by self-deprecating,ironic and high-level black expression style to deliberately separate from the mainstream groups,thus forming the community's unique collective imagination.This study found that it is under this culture that a new set of discourse has a greater impact on their group identification,mobilization methods and other levels,especially in the imperial bar out of the discourse mobilization most prominent.On the other hand,through the analysis of discourse text,the article explores the polysemy of the subcultural youth group behind the action,as well as the deeper political factors and power relations.On the face of it,discourse means include teaching and admonition,ridicule and teasing,attacks and threats,and words of love,sometimes intertwined and sometimes contradicted.In particular,the sense of superiority with a sense of hegemony has strengthened the differences and estrangement between the two sides of the strait in a certain sense.But at the same time,the extensive use of emoji bags can be seen that media technology has changed the use and expression of symbolic symbols in nationalist expression.The collage,misappropriation and poaching of elements have created the effects of exaggeration,parody and polysemy by the emotion of resentments in the original nationalism.The result is that the network visual discourse not only constructs the identity of network nationalism,the identity of both sides of the Taiwan Strait and discipline the two sides,but also because of its entertainment effect,the Internet users on both sides of the strait began to communicate.Young people because of patriotic feelings quickly transformed into nationalists,through the cyberspace of discourse mobilization,group excitement and martial arts complex production,through a tight division of labor organizations completed a large-scale collective mobilization.Among them,its own bottom layer of inferiority complex and the spirit of resistance have mixed the connotation culture,populism,exploding bar tradition and other values to a large extent to create the characteristics of this expedition,but also because of the "small pink" group to join.The expedition model has infiltrated more positive and tender elements than ever before.In other words,in the macro structure and historical and cultural elements,the imperial bar combines many elements,such as politics,entertainment,games,commerce,and so on.It gives us new memories of image politics,social struggle,national identity and the ideological trends of the new generation of youth groups.
