Recent years,mathematical modeling and mathematical modeling ability of students have been paid more and more attention.Mathematical modeling has become one of the key contents of education.Mathematical modeling ability of high school students has been tested in the form of math word problems in Jiangsu college entrance examination every year since the independent proposition in 2004.Therefore,the study of mathematics modeling questions of Jiangsu college entrance examination and Jiangsu high school students' ability of mathematical modeling have important theoretical value and practical significance.Based on the research methods of literature analysis,case study and investigation,this study has carried out the research on the examination conditions of mathematical modeling ability of Jiangsu college entrance examination,and established the following research contents:(1)Establish the evaluation standard of modeling ability for high school students;Use the standard to analyze Jiangsu college entrance examination word problems and score data in past ten years;Obtain the mathematical modeling ability of the college entrance examinees in Jiangsu province preliminarily.(2)Conduct a sampling survey of the mathematical modeling ability of senior 3 students at different levels in a city of Jiangsu province by using two questions of Jiangsu college entrance exams;Get the current situation of mathematical modeling ability of high school students.(3)Based on the results of analysis and statistics,summarize the test conditions of the mathematical modeling ability of Jiangsu college entrance examination;Makesuggestions on high school modeling teaching and Jiangsu college entranceexamination.The following main conclusions are obtained:(1)Jiangsu college entrance examination modeling exam focuses on the examination of basic knowledge;The function-derivative model and trigonometric function model are the main ones;The questions pay attention to operational capability;The difficulty of the test is above average;The ability to build a model has higher requirements.(2)Status of high school students'modeling ability:Basic knowledge of students is weak;Operational capability is generally poor;many mistakes are due to unclear topic reading;The modeling level is in the majority between examinees trying to model and modeling correctly.Based on the research results,the following Suggestions are made:(1)The proposition of Jiangsu college entrance examination mathematical modeling exam:(a)create the familiar situation of the examinee;(b)set reasonable difficulty gradient;(c)attach importance to the clarity and conciseness of the presentation;(d)compile innovative questions.(2)Teaching of mathematical modeling ability in high school:(a)emphasize the teaching of basic concepts;(b)strengthen the cultivation of operational capacities;(c)focus on the cultivation of examination habits;(d)strengthen normative training in problem-solving.
