High School Physical Geography In-depth Teaching Research Under A Strong Knowledge Orientation

With the development of the new round of geography curriculum reform in China,the cultivation of geographical core literacy has become the value pursuit of geography classroom teaching.Although geography knowledge teaching is no longer the ultimate goal,geography knowledge learning is still the foundation of geography teaching process.Powerful geography knowledge is the foundation for cultivating citizen geography core literacy.However,most of the senior high school natural geography classrooms are still teaching symbolic knowledge on the surface.As a result,the potential value pursuit behind the knowledge has been neglected,and the teaching goal of nurturing geographical core qualities is difficult to implement.Depth teaching aims to achieve the long-term development of students,and it is an important way to acquire powerful geography knowledge.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to carry out depth teaching of natural geography in high schools under powerful knowledge orientation.In this paper,through reading domestic and foreign monographs,periodicals,and websites related to powerful knowledge and in-depth teaching,literature analysis methods,case analysis methods,interview methods,and other methods are used to study the connotation,composition,characteristics of powerful knowledge and in-depth teaching.The current situation and teaching strategies of geographical depth teaching have been systematically studied,and the following conclusions have been obtained:(1)The composition and characteristics of powerful geographical knowledge are systematically presented,including knowledge that provides new ways of thinking,knowledge that provides students with powerful ways to analyse,explain and understand the world,knowledge that gives students some power over their own knowledge,knowledge that enables young people to follow and participate in debates on significant local,national and global issues knowledge that participates in debates on important topics,and knowledge of the world.(2)It has combed the strong geographical knowledge of high school’s natural geography and found that the system of high school natural geography content has macroscopic characteristics.Strong geographical knowledge has different manifestations in each chapter,and its types are diverse,rich,and flexible.(3)Through investigating the current situation of deep teaching of natural geography in senior high school under the strong knowledge orientation,it is concluded by case analysis that the following problems exist in the deep teaching of natural geography in senior high school:ignoring the renewal of geography teaching perspective,insufficient overall academic understanding;ignoring the ideological methods behind geography principles,the effect of classroom teaching is poor;ignoring the students’ heterogeneous thinking,the level of problem setting is low;ignoring the role of speculative topics,the form of teaching is single;ignoring the selection of large-scale cases,the ability to integrate teaching resources is low.Through further interviews,the reasons for the problems in the deep teaching of natural geography in senior high school under strong knowledge orientation are obtained:outdated geography teaching concepts,weak basis of geography professional knowledge,insufficient attention to the status of curriculum standards,weak awareness of student orientation,poor analysis of academic conditions,and rigorous classroom teaching behavior,the depth of topic design is not enough,and the use of geography teaching methods is inefficient.Geography textbooks are highly dependent and there is insufficient attention to geographic information technology.(4)The paper systematically elaborates the depth teaching strategies of high school’s natural geography in the direction of strong knowledge.In the knowledge teaching of providing new thinking mode,teachers should teach the core concepts of geography on the basis of overall thinking,and strengthen the ability of integration,perfect the structure of professional knowledge.In the teaching of knowledge with analysis,interpretation,and understanding,teachers should combine curriculum standards,grasp the theme of teaching objectives,reflect the concept of "students",and implement problem-based teaching.In the teaching of knowledge that participates in the important topic debate,teachers should analyze the learning situation,understand the students’ different ideas,create the wisdom situation and guide them with necessary intervention.In the teaching of knowledge to participate in the debate on important topics,teachers should focus on social settings,set up a "panorama position" situation,pay attention to geographical practice,and carry out various forms of group activities.In the teaching of knowledge about the world,teachers should use information technology to innovate teaching resources;And based on the idea of scale,to achieve global outlook.
