Deaf people's numerical processing capability has always been a hot topic and a key issue in the research and education.Numerical processing is the most important form of human thinking, and it is also one of the essential basic capabilities of people in daily life.Researchers in the study of numbers gradually found that there is a certain interconnected relationship between numbers and spatial representations, showing the SNARC effect. In previous studies, there were few studies on the SNARC effect of deaf people. However,a comprehensive understanding of deaf people's characteristics of numerical spatial representation and the characteristics of their numerical processing capabilities have important significance and effect on deaf people's own development and deaf education. Therefore, based on previous theoretical models and research conclusions, the research conducted in-depth discussion and analysis of the SNARC effect of deaf people. The study consists of three sub-studies(six behavioral experiments),which study the SNARC effects of 30 deaf subjects when they perform numerical processing tasks from three types of quantitative stimulation, different processing depths, and different orientations.Different kinds of stimulus types:Arabic numerals,Chinese numerals, sign language numerals, and digital dot were used as experimental materials. The stimulus detection task paradigm and number size judgment paradigm were used to investigate the influence of stimulus type, processing depth, and orientation on the SNARC effect of deaf people. The study is divided into three sub-studies in general.Study 1 contains Experiment 1 and Experiment 2.It mainly examines the SNARC effect of deaf people performing horizontal and shallow depth-and-shallow processing tasks on four kinds of stimuli.Study 2 contains Experiment 3 and in Experiment 4,we mainly examined the SNARC effect of deaf people performing deep and shallow processing tasks on four quantities of stimulation in the vertical direction;Study 3 includes Experiment 5 and Experiment 6,mainly from the northeast-southwest direction and the southeast-northwest direction. To investigate the SNARC effect of deaf people performing deep and shallow processing tasks on four kinds of stimulus.According to the results of the experimental data processing and analysis, the following conclusions were drawn:(1)In general, the SNARC effect of the deaf person is not significantly different from that of the hearing. The deaf person's digital processing ability is not due to their own obstacles have been affected. As the educational level and knowledge level of deaf people have improved, their numerical processing capabilities have also shown some development. This further validates that the SNARC effect can affect their characteristics through acquired education and experience;(2)Different types of quantitative stimuli such as Arabic numerals,Chinese numerals, and digital lattices have no effect on the size of the SNARC effect of deaf and hearing people.Instead, deaf people use the number of sign language in their daily lives, and the number of adversaries increases. The processing capacity is better than that of hearing people;(3)The processing depth has a certain influence on the SNARC effect of deaf people. In the southeast-northwest direction, the deaf person did not produce the effect of connecting numbers and space when performing shallow processing tasks on numbers. The reason is that in the shallow processing task, the subjects do not need to process the quantity information directly. When you look at the numbers, the relationship between the spatial characteristics of the performance and the number is not significant when it is used to perform deep processing tasks;(4)The numerical spatial representation of the deaf person is an approximate two-dimensional plane "numerical map",and the SNARC effect is not only reflected in The SNARC effect is found in the standard horizontal or vertical direction in other directions or angles(northeast-southwest,southeast-northwest).This is in accordance with the theoretical explanation of the mental "number map" proposed by Dehaene et al.
